A large field pond, stork nests near the grocery store, and historic farmsteads give Bogusławiec a distinct character. The village brings together tangible nature observations and rural architectural history: by the water, vegetation and trees take centre stage, while several houses tell stories of their construction dates, former uses, and preserved designs. When looking for a holiday apartment, this distinction can help you identify the focus you want for your trip.

Natural Features in Bogusławiec

The large field pond in Bogusławiec is surrounded by trees and has abundant vegetation. Stork nests can be observed near the grocery store. A black poplar grows behind the former farm buildings and has a trunk circumference of 445 cm. These three details offer different points of interest: the water and vegetation, birdwatching near the store, and a single tree with a measured circumference.

Historic Houses and Farmsteads

The historic farmstead buildings are considered a local feature of note. House No. 4–5 was built in the last quarter of the 19th century and has significant cultural value because of its preserved historic design. At House No. 6, the cornices and the surrounds of the windows and doors have been preserved. Cornices divide the façade into sections; surrounds frame window and door openings.

The former school is now House No. 7: a small historic building in the style of a house made of ceramic brick. House No. 8 dates from the 19th/20th century and is listed as a cultural heritage site of particular importance to the Municipality of Kołobrzeg. Together, the houses offer different insights into local history: their construction dates and preserved designs, architectural details, former uses, and ceramic brick each provide a distinct perspective. The historic houses are therefore not just a single, uniform category, but offer different ways to explore rural architectural history.

An Event as a Distinct Reason to Travel

Święto Mleka is a regular event for children, young people, and adults. As a recurring occasion, it complements the lasting natural and architectural features with a programme that takes place at a specific time. When planning a trip, it is therefore worth checking the event dates in advance.

Within the Wider Kolberg Travel Destination

Within the wider Kolberg travel destination, another focus is the coast and nature. Dźwirzyno Beach is a broad, sandy stretch of coastline bordered by dunes and pine forest, making it suitable for walks and relaxing in the shade. During the bathing season, it has lifeguarded sections, food and drink stands, changing facilities, and toilets. Some access points have been adapted for pushchairs and people with reduced mobility. The seasonal availability of these beach facilities is something to factor into trip planning.

The landscape of the Municipality of Kołobrzeg extends beyond the coast, encompassing dunes, peat bogs, pine forests, meadows, salt marshes, and river valleys. More than 700 species of vascular plants have been recorded in the municipality, including many protected species. Sphagnum mosses and marsh vegetation grow in the raised bogs around Dźwirzyno and Grzybowo; insectivorous plants can also be found there. The wider Kolberg travel destination thus offers coastal landscapes and distinctive bog habitats as different nature experiences.

There are also various ways to stay active: three Nordic walking routes in Grzybowo and Dźwirzyno run along the beaches and through the coastal forest, with varying levels of difficulty. The 55 km Wokół Jeziora Resko cycling route runs mostly through the Municipality of Kołobrzeg and also enters the neighbouring Municipality of Trzebiatów. The walking routes vary in difficulty, while the cycling route is best described by its length and course.

Dźwirzyno harbour was formerly a fishing harbour and is now used for both fishing and tourism. It is suitable for coastal sailing, fishing trips, and sea excursions in small boats. A modern bridge over the canal between Lake Resko Przymorskie and the sea is considered a landmark of Dźwirzyno.
