Łąka brings together a medieval village history, a manor house complex listed in the heritage register and a landscape with particular significance for birds. The Łąki Skoszewskie Natura 2000 Special Protection Area for birds lies west of the village; a former manor house is located in the northern part of Łąka. The area also has a cycle path over 40 kilometres long, the international R-66 route and a multifunctional sports field. When planning your trip, you can first decide whether cultural history, wet meadows, cycling or sport will be the focus of your stay.

Village History and Manor House

Łąka is a medieval village first documented in 1394. The manor house complex is included in the voivodeship register of immovable cultural heritage. The year anchors the village’s history in a specific medieval record; the register classifies the manor house complex as cultural heritage.

A former manor house is located in the northern part of Łąka. A small park with dense, mature tree cover and oak trees lies north of the manor house courtyard. Its original boundaries are still discernible; at the same time, it is the only fully preserved element of the original spatial layout. The park’s location, discernible boundaries and state of preservation give it particular significance for understanding the former manor house grounds.

A barn remains from the historic farm buildings; modern farm buildings are currently unused. The barn and the park are therefore among the historic features of the manor house complex described here, while the current use of the modern farm buildings is also noted.

Wet Meadows and Bird Protection

The Łąki Skoszewskie Natura 2000 Special Protection Area for birds lies west of Łąka. It includes extensive marshy meadows on the eastern shore of the Szczecin Lagoon. The Łąka sołectwo (village administrative unit) lies entirely within the bird protection area; the natural setting therefore refers to a specific landscape and a clearly defined protected area.

Municipal records from 2010 and 2015 list at least 33 bird species in the area included in Annex I of the Birds Directive, as well as eight species on the Polish Red List. The wet meadows and bird records describe two aspects of the natural environment: the landscape type and the specific species present. If nature and landscape are priorities when planning your trip, Łąka offers a clearly named bird protection area rather than a generally described natural setting.

Cycle Routes with Different Points of Reference

The red “Stepnicki” cycle route passes through Łąka and is over 40 kilometres long. A 2010 municipal plan also shows the international R-66 “Around the Szczecin Lagoon” cycle route for Łąka, noting that it was created and signposted by the PTTK on behalf of Stepnica Municipality. A route length is given for the Stepnicki, while the R-66 is described by its international lagoon route name. Before cycling the R-66, check the current signage and route conditions.

The Sports Field as Another Local Point of Interest

The multifunctional sports field in Łąka measures 36.57 × 22.00 metres and covers an area of 804.5 square metres; its surface is made of synthetic polyurethane. A municipal notice dated 4 June 2025 lists the field among the municipality’s most frequently used sports facilities. As a travel interest, the sports field is distinct from the cycle routes and the protected area: it is a measured facility rather than a route or landscape.
