Butryny offers three marked cycling routes, whose lengths, routes and difficulty ratings make a direct comparison possible. There is also the BARTBO amusement park, which focuses on active outdoor recreation. When planning, it is worth considering the route type and terrain as well as the distance: the shortest route is hilly and of moderate difficulty, while Route 37 is longer but easy and flat. Another difference is the route itself, as Route 39 is described as a loop starting and ending in Butryny.

Compare cycling routes in Butryny

The yellow-marked cycling route 37 runs via Olsztyn and Butryny to Nowa Kaletka and ZgniƂocha. It is 24 km long, rated easy and flat. In this described itinerary, Butryny lies between Olsztyn and the destinations named afterwards. So Route 37 can be assessed by more than its difficulty rating: the full sequence of places also shows how the route continues beyond Butryny.

The blue-marked cycling route 38 runs from Olsztyn via Stary Olsztyn, Linowo, Trękus, Kaborno, Nowa Wieƛ and Przykop to Butryny. At 27 km, it is the longest of the three routes; it is of moderate difficulty, hilly and marked. Its sequence of places therefore differs from Route 37: Butryny is not along the way, but at the end of the described route. The route itself is another point to consider alongside length and difficulty rating.

Marked in green, cycling route 39 is an 11 km loop from Butryny via Nowa Kaletka and back to Butryny. It is of moderate difficulty and hilly. Compared with Route 37, it is 13 km shorter; compared with Route 38, it is 16 km shorter. Its loop format distinguishes it from the place sequences given for the other two routes.

The routes can be compared using several criteria: Route 39 is the shortest and is explicitly described as a loop; Route 37 is longer, but easy and flat. Route 38 is the longest and shares Route 39’s moderate, hilly rating. This lets you compare route type, terrain and distance instead of using the number of kilometres as your only criterion.

Active recreation at BARTBO

The BARTBO amusement park in Butryny is an 18-hectare park for active outdoor recreation. Attractions include a high ropes course, paintball, quad biking, activity balls and Segways. Alongside the cycling routes, it offers a range of specific activities as a separate focus. The cycling routes are defined by their itineraries, lengths and difficulty ratings, while BARTBO is defined by its individual attractions—a useful distinction when planning what to do in Butryny.
