Bałtów offers several distinct attractions: wildlife, dinosaur history and buildings in miniature. When planning your trip, it helps to consider these highlights separately. This lets you decide whether you would rather focus on animal species, traces of prehistoric times, exhibits or architectural models. The themes differ both in their content and in the forms described for each.

Wildlife and landscape

Zwierzyniec Bałtowski is a safari park with dozens of native and exotic animal species from other continents. The information about their origins makes clear the breadth of this wildlife offering. The upper section is usually explored aboard an American school bus. This distinctive feature helps you understand the safari park not only in terms of its animal species, but also by the way it is explored.

Zwierzyniec Górny puts the emphasis on the landscape. The area covers more than 60 hectares; extensive meadows, wooded areas, ravines and small ponds provide a habitat for the animals there. Here, the focus is not only on animal species, but also on the nature of their habitat. The landscape combines open spaces with wooded areas, ravines and small bodies of water, offering a different perspective on the wildlife theme. If you also take the landscape into account when choosing a destination, this is a concrete difference from a description of a collection.

Dinosaur history and exhibits

JuraPark Bałtów was Poland’s first attraction of its kind and was established at a site where authentic dinosaur tracks were discovered. The park therefore combines historical context with a specific connection to the discovery site. For anyone interested in dinosaurs, this is more than a general theme: the discovery of the tracks is part of the history of JuraPark’s creation.

The Muzeum Dinozaurów in Bałtów displays fossils and models of extinct organisms, as well as dioramas of their habitats. Its focus is therefore on exhibits and depictions of the habitats of extinct organisms. The three forms listed—fossils, models and dioramas—offer different ways to explore the subject: from fossils to models to dioramas.

The two prehistoric attractions therefore appeal to different interests: JuraPark is defined by its historical distinction as the first of its kind and its connection to the discovery site; the museum focuses on the fossils, models and dioramas on display. When choosing between these highlights, consider whether you would first like to explore the history of an attraction or the forms of presentation on display.

Poland in miniature

Polska w Miniaturze offers a different scale. The park, covering about one hectare, is laid out in the shape of Poland and includes 50 miniature castles and palaces. Here, the focus is not on individual animal species or extinct organisms, but on the shape of the country and scaled-down buildings. The approximate area gives you an idea of the size of the site, while the number of models conveys the scope of the architecture on display. If you are more interested in Polish buildings than in wildlife or prehistoric themes, this is a distinct highlight in Bałtów.

To visit Polska w Miniaturze, you need either a “Bilet Kompleksowy” or an admission ticket for the miniature park. Check this ticket requirement with the operator before your visit.
