Solec-Zdrój combines botanical knowledge along two avenues with a mineral bath complex and a church with its own architectural history. When planning your trip, it is worth distinguishing between attractions in the town and walking destinations across the municipality. This lets you shape your stay around the topics that interest you most.
Botanical knowledge along two avenues
The Aromatherapy Avenue is located on ul. Partyzantów. Its 40 information boards introduce the plant species found there and their characteristics. Magnolia Avenue is on ul. Cicha and has 20 boards about the plants growing there. The signs have different focuses: the Aromatherapy Avenue boards also cover the plants’ characteristics, while the Magnolia Avenue boards focus on the plants growing there. If you are interested in botanical details, you can include these two differently designed collections of information boards in your exploration of the town.
Water facilities at the mineral bath complex
The mineral bath complex includes a leisure pool with highly mineralised water and modern hydrotherapy facilities. These include massage loungers, geysers and slides. There is also a pool with brine-sulphur water from the “Malina” spring. The information gives you two specific points to consider when planning your visit: the leisure pool’s facilities, and the source and type of water in the other pool. You can then decide which of these matters most for your visit. Check the latest access and operating information before visiting.
Church history across two periods
St Nicholas’ Church was built in 1937–1939 on the site of an earlier Gothic church. Some of its interior furnishings come from that older church, including epitaphs to distinguished citizens of Solec and a crucifix in the main altar dating from the turn of the 16th and 17th centuries. The construction date and older furnishings make the church’s chronology especially tangible: the present building was built in the 20th century, while some of its furnishings date back much further. If you would like to visit the church interior, check visiting arrangements in advance.
Walking routes and landscape across the municipality
Two walking trails cross the municipality of Solec-Zdrój: the green Grochowiska–Wiślica trail and the red Busko-Zdrój–Solec-Zdrój trail. Their colours and names help distinguish the two routes. The Szaniecki Landscape Park also lies within the municipality. This means that, alongside attractions in the town, there are also destinations to explore across the municipality. The specific route names provide a useful starting point for planning walks; take current trail conditions into account when making your plans.
The municipality’s tourist app displays walking and cycling routes in the area on a map. It complements the names and colours of the two walking trails with a map view of the municipal route network. If you plan to use the app for navigation, check that it is currently available and working.
Getting around town and choosing a focus for your stay
Melex rides are a local shuttle service within the town; the starting and final stops are at the mineral baths. If you plan to take one, check in advance whether the service is currently running. For specific outings, check the location and the suitable connection for each destination rather than assuming that the different destinations across the municipality form a fixed route.
