Milowka offers a range of reasons to stay: local history, regional traditions and outdoor activities. The Soła is a recurring point of reference. Park Gminny lies on its banks, a cycling route about five kilometres long runs through Milowka alongside the river, and the pump track is also located by the Soła. You can therefore tailor your accommodation search to whether culture, an event date or outdoor activities are your main focus.
Park, Cycling Route and Pump Track
Park Gminny covers about three hectares on the banks of the Soła. It includes a fitness trail with exercise equipment and a high ropes course. The course has 27 obstacles across two routes of different difficulty levels; it is intended for people over 160 centimetres tall. If you plan to visit the high ropes course, check the local opening information.
A cycling route about five kilometres long runs through Milowka alongside the Soła, with an elevation difference of 25 metres. The pump track by the Soła connects to an existing cycling path and provides cyclists with a place to train for rides in hilly terrain. Inline skaters, skateboarders and scooter riders can also use it. The facilities suit different activities: the cycling route runs through the town, while the pump track is a training facility for riding in hilly terrain.
Church and Regional Culture
The brick Church of the Assumption of Mary was completed in 1839 and is classified as being in the so-called Vistula style. It was preceded by a wooden church, which served the community until the first half of the 19th century; construction of the present brick church began in 1834. The town’s history can thus be traced through two building phases: the older wooden church was followed by the brick church, built between 1834 and 1839.
Posiady Gawędziarskie is a three-day event held every year in November in Milowka. Stories are told in the regional dialect, and the programme also includes a competition featuring performances on unique folk instruments. The church and the event offer different cultural highlights: one focuses on building history and architecture, the other on oral storytelling traditions and instrumental music.
When to Visit and Plan Your Trip
The timing depends on your main focus: Posiady Gawędziarskie takes place every year in November, while the high ropes course is seasonal. If you want to plan your trip around the event programme, check the exact event dates; for the high ropes course, check locally whether it is open.
The “Stara Chałupa” Museum has been closed for renovations since March 2026 and will remain closed until further notice. Check its status again before your trip.
