Czernichów offers several specific points of interest to help you plan your trip: hiking trails with named destinations, distinctive sacred architecture and water sports on Lake Międzybrodzkie. Each topic provides different information for planning. For hikes, waypoints, elevations and walking times are useful; for the chapel and bell tower, the focus is on their dates of construction and design. At Floryda Beach Bar, rental options and views of Mount Żar round out the picture.

Hiking Trails and Planning Your Time

The blue hiking trail from the centre passes via Suchy Wierch to Czupel at 933 m and Magurka at 909 m. These elevations refer to the destinations, not the walking time. The blue trail also passes through Kościelec, Jaworzyna, Przełęcz Cisowa and Przełęcz Przysłop; the stated walking time is four hours, with two hours and 45 minutes for the return journey. Another hiking route connects Czernichów and Międzybrodzie Bialskie via Czupel, Schronisko na Magurce and Pod Sokołówką. It is 15 km long, with an average walking time of five hours, excluding breaks.

The time estimates use different reference points: the return journey is listed separately for the blue trail, while the five-hour estimate for the 15 km route excludes breaks. If you plan this route, allow extra time for breaks. The destinations also differ: the blue trail leads to the named high points of Czupel and Magurka, while the other route connects two villages. This makes it possible to weigh the time involved alongside the type of destination.

Chapel and Bell Tower

The historic chapel in Czernichów dates from the 18th century. It is built of masonry and has a shingle roof. The wooden bell tower dates from the 19th century and has a post-and-beam structure; its walls are slanted and clad in boards. The chapel and tower are considered characteristic examples of sacred architecture in the Beskid landscape.

The technical term “post-and-beam structure” describes a building method in which vertical wooden posts support the structure. The slant and board cladding further describe the shape of the tower walls. The chapel’s construction features, by contrast, are its masonry and roof covering. This makes it possible to compare the two religious buildings by date of construction, structural system and external appearance. The tower’s structure differs from the chapel’s. Those interested in regional sacred architecture will find specific points of comparison in their materials and construction methods.

Water Sports on Lake Międzybrodzkie

Floryda Beach Bar is in a scenic recreational area on Lake Międzybrodzkie and offers views of Mount Żar. Pedal boats, SUP boards and kayaks are available to rent there. The three rental options offer different ways to spend time on the water and provide a different focus from the hiking trails. The area thus combines lake views with specific water sports activities.
