Bierna offers a scenic setting, a named hiking route and several local cultural attractions. The village lies in Beskid Mały Landscape Park and its buffer zone. A small part of Bierna also belongs to the Beskid Mały Natura 2000 protected area (PLH 240023). The two protected-area designations cover different extents: the landscape park and its buffer zone encompass the village, while the Natura 2000 site covers only a small part of Bierna. This distinction helps separate the broader landscape context from the individual hiking and architectural features.

Landscape and hiking trails

A green-marked hiking route runs from Łodygowice railway station via Glemieniec, Bierna and Łysy Groń to Czernichów. Bierna lies between the stated starting point and destination. The route is therefore a connection through several places, not a circular trail that starts and ends in Bierna. Another route leads from the hostel towards Tresna and meets the yellow-marked trail near the ODYS Centre. The two options differ in their starting points, directions and connection to Bierna: the green route includes the village along its course, while the other heads towards Tresna. When choosing, consider whether you would like to follow the route through Bierna to Czernichów or take the route towards Tresna, which connects to the yellow trail. Check the current condition of your chosen trail before setting out.

Wayside shrines and wooden houses

The local cultural features can also be distinguished clearly. One stone wayside shrine is at ul. Kopernika 23; another stone shrine, with a lantern, stands at the intersection of Turystyczna and Ogrodowa streets. Both their different locations and the second shrine’s lantern detail are noteworthy when comparing them. Four wooden houses add to the theme of local architectural styles: they are at ul. Kopernika 38, ul. Kopernika 53, ul. Szewska 4 and ul. Zielona 2. Two of the house addresses are on Kopernika; the other two are on Szewska and Zielona. This gives you two distinct types of local architecture to explore: stone wayside shrines and wooden houses, whose four addresses are spread across three streets.

Sleigh rides for groups

Rancho Bierna organizes sleigh rides exclusively for groups of at least ten people. The operator asks you to get in touch in advance to arrange a date. Group size directly determines whether this activity is an option for your travel party; arrange a date before finalizing your daily itinerary. The ride is not available to smaller groups. Consider your group size and agree on a date before adding the sleigh ride as a firm part of your plans.

Different planning priorities

The options also differ in how they can be planned: the hike follows a route between places, the cultural features are at specific addresses, and the sleigh ride requires a minimum group size and advance arrangements. These differences can help you choose the focus of your stay in Bierna.
