Studzienice brings together a clearly defined cycle route section, local cultural landmarks and different types of landscape. This gives you specific focal points for planning your trip: the blue Plessówka route, the history of the Church of St John the Baptist and the landscape in the north. You can start by choosing accommodation based on whether cycling, local history or the landscape will shape your stay.

The Plessówka cycle route through Studzienice

The blue-marked “Plessówka” cycle route runs from Pawłowice via Suszec and Kobiór to Pszczyna and is 44.5 kilometres long in total. One section passes through Studzienice. Paths branch off the route to properties and the village centre. After passing through the village, the route continues south and reaches a road junction in Jankowice. The 44.5 kilometres refers to the entire route, not just the section in Studzienice. If you plan to ride the route, check the trail conditions before setting off.

Church history and cultural landmarks

The Church of St John the Baptist in Studzienice began as a small chapel built in 1913–1914. The small chapel from which the church developed was consecrated on 24 June 1920. Services are held regularly at the church on weekdays, Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays. If you plan to attend a service, check the times in advance, as they may change.

Two other structures can be distinguished by their addresses: a stone wayside cross, protected as a cultural asset, stands at ul. Bażantów 40. An architectural chapel is located at ul. Klemensa Szewczyka 101. Together with the church, these places offer several concrete points of reference for the village’s history, although they need not share the same historical origins.

Landscape and village character

Two types of landscape dominate the Studzienice area: agricultural land with fields, meadows and wooded areas, and forest. The northern part of Studzienice lies within a protected landscape area that includes, among other things, the valleys of the Pszczynka and Korzenica rivers. The landscape is therefore a focus in its own right, alongside the cycle route and buildings.

The settlement pattern is also part of the village’s character: Studzienice has historically developed structures with a relatively high proportion of traditional buildings still preserved. When planning, it helps to distinguish between these established structures, the individual cultural landmarks and the different types of landscape. This can help you decide which theme you would like to focus on during your stay.

Bus service notice

As of 22 July 2026, local bus line B was temporarily split into lines B-1 and B-2 because of roadworks in Studzienice and Jankowice. The arrangement was to remain in place until further notice. Check the current route before travelling.

Additional context: Pszczyna

In the wider destination of Pszczyna, the Historic Park covers 156 hectares. It includes the Castle Park, Dworcowy Park and Dziką Promenada. Dziką Promenada is home to a well-maintained golf course and the Pokazowa Zagroda Żubrów, a demonstration reserve for European bison. These park and landscape destinations form a distinct theme within Pszczyna.

The Castle Museum in Pszczyna also offers a distinct cultural experience: it represents residences once inhabited by European nobility. Around 80 percent of the original furnishings from around the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries have been preserved. The Silesian Press Museum dedicates its exhibition to the history of the Silesian press from its beginnings through 1939, and collects historic printing presses and printing equipment. The Izba Telemanna displays historic musical instruments, including an 18th-century positive organ.
