Luzino combines two walking trails of different lengths with an arboretum and historic sites. The pine trail and the beech trail offer a clear choice of route length; with more than 140 species and varieties of rare trees and shrubs, the arboretum has a botanical focus. A park in the town center adds another destination for a stay in Luzino.

Walking Trails and Views

The entrance to Ścieżka Zdrowia is on ul. Wilczka; there is a public parking lot right next to it. For walking and running, you can choose between a 1.9 km pine trail and a 3.4 km beech trail. The beech trail is therefore 1.5 km longer. Several pieces of equipment are available for general exercise.

Nearby, there is a viewpoint on Ścieżka Zdrowia, 2 km from the entrance. From there, the view extends across Charwatynia to Strzebielino. Alongside the lengths of the two trails, a specific viewpoint and views of the surrounding area are also highlights of a visit.

Arboretum and Park

The arboretum in Luzino features more than 140 species and varieties of rare trees and shrubs. Paths, lawns, and benches are part of the grounds, as are a shelter and a prepared fire pit. The botanical diversity is complemented by several different amenities. Admission is free; check the access conditions before your visit.

The park, named after Prof. Gerard Labuda, is in the center of Luzino. Its features include a pond, a fountain, walking paths, and a playground. The park brings together water, paths, and a play area in a central location. Those looking to include a park visit when choosing places to explore will find several specific features here, rather than just a green space.

Local History and Regional Collections

The early medieval hillfort site, dating from the 9th century, is on ul. Długa, beyond the footbridge over the Bolszewka. It offers a distinct connection to Luzino’s early history. The Church of św. Wawrzyńca dates from 1740. Its oldest element is a medieval stone holy water font from the previous wooden church. The church’s furnishings and entrance gate also date from the Baroque period.

The Gminna Biblioteka Publiczna im. Leona Roppla is located in a former Protestant church that was in use from 1895 to 1945. The building’s former religious purpose and its current use as a library come together here, while keeping its historical use distinct from its present-day function.

The Izba Regionalna in Luzino displays cultural artifacts relating to the region’s history, archaeology, ethnography, and art. Its collections include a material and spiritual collection, a forestry and natural history collection, and a collection of agricultural machinery displayed outdoors. The range spans regional themes and a collection exhibited outside.

The Izba Regionalna is open every Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.; check the opening hours before your visit. For planning, you can compare different options: walking trails and exercise, plants and open spaces, or historic sites and regional collections.
