Barłomino offers a range of options for a stay: horse-riding lessons, the “Bruk Barłomiński” hiking and cycling trail, and historical sites. You can focus on horse riding, getting active on a named route or local history, without following a fixed itinerary. For outdoor activities, the Bruk and a botanical nature trail are two different options to consider.

Horse riding: lessons and competitions

The Barłomino Riding Club offers horse-riding lessons for children, teenagers and adults. Lessons are conducted by the Cavello Riding School from Gdynia. If you are making lessons the reason for your trip, arrange a time with the provider in advance. This will help you plan your visit.

National-level competitions are held at the Barłomino Equestrian Centre. Lessons and competitions are different reasons to explore horse riding in Barłomino. If you plan to travel to attend a competition, check the specific event dates in advance.

Getting around on foot or by bike

The “Bruk Barłomiński” hiking and cycling trail runs from Bożepole through Barłomino to Milwino and onward towards Gdańsk. It follows or crosses the Łeba proglacial valley. This describes both the options for walking and cycling and the sequence of places along the route. Its connection with the proglacial valley also situates the trail in the landscape it passes through or alongside.

There is also a botanical nature trail at Leśniczówka Barłomino. Its focus differs from that of the Bruk: here, it is a botanical nature trail at a named location, while the Bruk is a hiking and cycling trail that passes through several places. When choosing between the two, you can consider whether you would rather include a nature trail or a route with a specified sequence of places in your plans.

Historical points of interest in Barłomino

The oldest documents mentioning Barłomino date from 1400. Over the centuries, Barłomino belonged to Jan Lubocki, Krzysztof Czapski, Ernest von Krockow, General von Schachtman, von Grumblow, Adolf Fredrich von Zelewski, Eberhart von Zelewski and, most recently, Baron von Fuchs. The year 1400 and the list of owners offer different starting points for exploring the local history.

Two other historical points of interest date from the second half of the 19th century. The Barłomino Evangelical cemetery is in the forest and can be reached via ul. Parkowa. Barłomino also has a manor park from the same period. The cemetery and the park are two different sites from this era. If you would like to visit either one in particular, check current access arrangements in advance.
