Krynica Morska lies on both the Baltic Sea and the Vistula Lagoon. Its wide sandy beaches are a defining feature of the destination: they stretch for 25 kilometres and are made up of fine sand. If you are looking for a hotel, you can start by deciding whether beaches, nature or historic architecture will be the focus of your trip. This lets you begin your search with the things that interest you in Krynica Morska before comparing individual accommodation options.

Coast and views

The beaches offer a clear connection to the Baltic Sea, while the town’s location also encompasses the Vistula Lagoon. One special viewpoint is Wielbłądzi Garb, the highest dune in Krynica Morska. From one side, the view reaches the Baltic Sea; from the other, the Vistula Lagoon. On the lagoon’s horizon are the Wzgórza Wysoczyzny Elbląskiej, with Katedra Fromborska. The landscape is therefore more than just a coastal beach: from the same viewpoint, the sea, lagoon and named elevations on the horizon are all in view.

Nature trails and protected areas

In the centre of Krynica Morska is the “Krynicki Starodrzew” ecological reserve, with a short educational trail. It offers a different focus from the expansive beaches: here, the focus is on a protected natural area in the centre of town. If you would like to consider a short nature-focused walk alongside the coastal landscape, this offers another way to explore Krynica Morska.

Rezerwat Buków is home to trees that are around 150 years old. Fallow deer, foxes, wild boar, raccoon dogs and numerous bird species are also found there. The two nature attractions are quite distinct: Krynicki Starodrzew has a short educational trail, while the ancient trees and the animal species mentioned above define the character of Rezerwat Buków. At the municipal level, the “Mierzeja Wiślana” Landscape Park extends across the municipalities of Krynica Morska and Sztutowo in Nowy Dwór County.

Historic buildings

The built environment is also part of Krynica Morska’s character. Its historic buildings include an ensemble of listed villas and guesthouses dating from the early 20th century. Alongside beaches and nature, historic architecture and its different building styles are therefore also options to explore. If you are particularly interested in older buildings, this ensemble offers a specific reason to look beyond the coastal landscape and learn about the town’s architectural history.

Other destinations and regional connections

Nearby, the educational trail to Góra Pirata begins about five kilometres beyond Krynica Morska, in the direction of Piaski. The distance given describes the trail’s starting point, not its length. Another local attraction is the Krynica Morska lighthouse, which is open to visitors. If you would like to visit, check the latest visitor information in advance.

Other viewpoints and routes are associated with the Mierzeja Wiślana across the wider region. The spit has a natural viewpoint from which both the Gulf of Gdańsk and the Vistula Lagoon can be seen at the same time. A connecting section of the international R10 cycle route runs across the Mierzeja Wiślana and follows a ridge along a cliff to the beach. These regional connections complement the specific impressions of Krynica Morska without equating them with the destinations within the town. When planning your trip, you can distinguish between beach and dune views, nature attractions, historic buildings and broader landscape features.
