In Lubań, recurring agricultural events and a filial church with a history behind its name offer different points of interest. The fair and field day programs provide insights into livestock farming, crop production, horticulture, and culinary arts; the church adds a cultural and historical connection. When planning a trip, it is important to match information to a specific edition: an earlier program is not a preview of a later date.

Agricultural fairs with varied programs

The Pomorskie Agro Targi are held regularly in Lubań; the 33rd edition took place in 2026. A recurring key feature is the Pomorska Wystawa Zwierząt Hodowlanych. At its edition on June 13 and 14, 2026, sheep, horses, and beef cattle were showcased. The culinary workshops also included an opportunity to try beef dishes. The program thus combines the presentation of livestock groups with a specific culinary offering for that edition.

Educational areas for children and concerts were part of the program at the Pomorskie Agro Targi on June 7 and 8, 2025. These examples from 2025 and 2026 show different aspects of the events, but should not be combined into a program for a future date. If a particular program item matters to you, refer to the announced details for the relevant edition.

Field trials, horticulture, and culinary arts

Another agricultural focus is the regularly held Dzień Pola at the Pomorskiego Ośrodka Doradztwa Rolniczego in Lubań. At the edition on June 25, 2026, cereal, potato, and legume varieties were presented on more than 700 trial plots. Mustard varieties and various catch crop mixtures were also presented for the first time that year. Compared with the livestock exhibition, the focus here is on plants and cultivation: those interested in varieties and field trials will find a clearly distinct event focus.

Horticulture and beekeeping are the focus of the 16th Targi Ogrodniczo-Pszczelarskie. This regular outdoor event is for people interested in horticulture, beekeeping, and nature. It complements the field day themes with a different perspective on plants and their surroundings. Culinary arts also feature as a specific program item at an event in Lubań: the 26th Kashubian Agricultural Autumn Event included the “Wypieki z warzyw” competition on September 14, 2024. Together, these different occasions show that agricultural themes are not limited to a single type of fair.

The filial church and its history of names

The church p.w. św. Piotra i Pawła in Lubań is listed as a tourist attraction of the Gmina Nowa Karczma. The filial church was built in the late 1980s. Today it bears the name “Św. Jana Pawła II”; the parish history also records its former name, “Świętych Apostołów Piotra i Pawła.” Visitors learning about the church will therefore encounter both its current name and its former dedication to Saints Peter and Paul. Its history of names offers a distinct cultural connection alongside the changing themes of the agricultural events.
