Debe (Dębe) combines a local focus on cultural history with natural and historical destinations across the municipality of Kosów Lacki. In Dębe, the manor house and landscape park take centre stage; the Nadbużański Landscape Park, routes, and the Treblinka Memorial are also within the municipality. This geographical distinction is helpful when planning a trip: the manor house and park complex is the local focal point, while several other themes relate to the municipality as a whole.

Manor House and Landscape Park in Dębe

The manor house in the manor house and park complex in Dębe was built in 1903 by Feliks Chruścicki as a summer house. It is surrounded by a landscape park, and the complex is listed in the register of monuments. The ensemble thus brings together a specific architectural history and a park landscape. The year of construction and original use as a summer house refer to the manor house; the manor house and park complex is listed as a whole. For those interested in architectural history, Feliks Chruścicki and 1903 provide two specific points of reference. The surrounding landscape park adds another perspective on the design of the site.

A tourist route also passes through Dębe: Route 2 of Sokołów County. Numerous hiking and cycling trails, as well as a route for motorised tourism, also run through the municipality of Kosów Lacki. This distinction matters for orientation: Route 2 is specifically associated with Dębe, while the other routes relate to the municipality as a whole. This makes it possible to distinguish a local route from routes across the municipality.

Nature and Routes in the Municipality of Kosów Lacki

The north-western part of the municipality of Kosów Lacki lies within the Nadbużański Landscape Park. The part of the landscape park within the municipality has designated educational trails where visitors can observe the local natural environment. This adds a nature theme at the municipal level alongside the manor house and park complex. Those wishing to include both architectural history and nature observation in their trip can take these different geographical focal points into account when making their selection.

Another nature attraction is the “Bojarski Grąd” floristic nature reserve in the village of Bojary, within the municipality of Kosów Lacki. Protected plants such as the globe flower and the Onopordum thistle grow there. The reserve offers a distinct focus alongside the landscape park’s educational trails: here, the emphasis is on named plants and a specific nature reserve, while the trails provide opportunities to observe the local natural environment. Bojary and Dębe are different locations within the municipality.

Treblinka and Local Culture

The history of Treblinka is another focal point within the municipality. The permanent exhibition at the Treblinka Museum covers the history of the Treblinka II extermination camp and the Treblinka I penal labour camp. Archaeological finds and a model of the extermination camp complement the exhibition. The Treblinka Memorial, located within the municipality of Kosów Lacki, commemorates the victims of the Treblinka II extermination camp and the Treblinka I labour camp. Its grounds include, among other places, the gravel pit, the Black Road, the execution site, and the site of the former Treblinka railway station. The exhibition and the memorial offer different perspectives: the exhibition combines historical interpretation with artefacts and a model, while the memorial encompasses several named locations.

A dated cultural reference from Dębe adds to these: the village community came second in the 2025 harvest-wreath competition in Kosów Lacki. This achievement adds a glimpse of village life to the architectural and nature themes.
