The Pełta Trail passes through Boby, making the village part of a route between Pułtusk and Gnojno: it starts in Pułtusk, passes through Boby and Gnojno, and returns to Pułtusk. When planning, it is not just the route itself that matters. The trail combines river valleys with a challenging section and small traces of architecture and culture along the way. Boby is also home to a windmill, whose wooden construction is a point of interest in its own right alongside the bike ride.

Pełta Trail: River Valleys and Challenging Terrain

The Pełta Trail follows the Narew Valley and the valley of its tributary, the Pełta. This gives the route a clear landscape theme, but its character changes with the terrain. Before Gnojno, a very difficult section runs along sandy paths before the route reaches the former gravel pit. The difficulty of this section depends on the weather and how well it is maintained. So check current route conditions before setting out, and take the sandy terrain into account when planning your trip. The route should not be chosen solely for its scenic highlights: this section in particular makes the ride challenging.

Riverside Shelter, Oxbows and Wayside Markers

Scenic stops include a shelter on the riverbank with views across the Narew, the former gravel pit near Gnojno and Narew oxbows. Old crosses and wayside shrines complement the natural scenery with religious markers along the route. One double-barred cross is considered rare in Masovia and commemorates an event from 1893. The route thus alternates between riverside scenery, a former gravel pit and small reminders of local traditions along the way. The riverside shelter overlooking the Narew is a notable place to take a break.

The Windmill in Boby

The windmill in Boby is a post-and-beam structure. Its walls are vertically boarded, its gabled roof is covered with shingles, and it has a wooden cap. A covered staircase leads inside. These features make its construction a distinctive local attraction: the timber-frame-like structure, wooden cladding and roof shape can all be seen together in one building, rather than being merely abstract features of rural architecture.

Pułtusk as a Cultural Highlight in the Wider Pułtuski Destination

In the wider Pułtuski destination, Pułtusk adds urban history to the landscape tour. The cobbled market square is 400 metres long, making it Europe's longest cobbled market square, and is surrounded by townhouses dating from the 18th and 19th centuries. The Collegiate Basilica of the Annunciation in Pułtusk has been recognised as a Pomnik Historii, a monument of special significance to Polish culture. It is the best-preserved and most complete example of the so-called Pułtusk group of Masovian Renaissance architecture.

The Regional Museum in Pułtusk also offers a distinct historical focus: it has been housed in the town hall tower at Rynek 43 since 1964. The exhibition “Medieval Proto-Town in Pułtusk” presents the city's earliest history in its oldest urban brick building. Check before visiting whether the exhibition is currently on display. Tourist information points are located at the Regional Museum and the Municipal Centre for Culture and the Arts in Pułtusk; locations and opening hours may change.
