Radzyń is considered a holiday village. Southwest of the village are ponds that formed after peat and chalk were extracted; beavers live in them. These waters connect a distinctive aspect of the village’s natural landscape with its history of land use. Radzyń is also mentioned in documents dating from the 13th century. The ponds and the early documentary mention highlight different aspects: one explains a specific landscape feature, while the other points to the village’s long history.

On foot: Yellow and Green Trails

The Yellow Trail is 31 kilometres long and passes through Radzyń. Beyond the village, it passes recreation centres and reaches a trail junction by an oak tree. It continues from Radzyń via Jeziorna and Mesze to the “Mesze” nature reserve. For planning, this gives you both a notable point along the trail and a named protected area as a destination along the route.

The Green Trail leads from Radzyń to the IMGW research station. In Radzyń, it joins the Yellow Trail; the two trails share the route as far as the station. The station is therefore a shared destination on this stretch, while the Yellow Trail continues towards Mesze. For comparison, the oak tree is a trail junction along the way, the station is the end point of the shared stretch, and the nature reserve lies on the continuing Yellow Trail. This can help you distinguish between the trails based on their destinations.

Cycling: Connector and loop

For cycling, there is a connector between two places and a loop with several stops. The cycling route between Lubiatów and Radzyń is about 11 kilometres long. The “RoweroweLove – Sławska Pętla” cycling and hiking loop is about 35 kilometres long and runs from Sława via Radzyń, Tarnów Jezierny, Dąbrowno, Chełmek, Lubięcin, Konotop, the “Jezioro Święte” water and peat bog reserve, Lubiatów and Lubogoszcz, returning to Sława. The loop follows asphalt roads, forest paths and gravel roads; it passes through forests, quiet holiday destinations and protected areas. The distances answer different planning questions: 11 kilometres refers to the connector between Lubiatów and Radzyń, while about 35 kilometres refers to a loop returning to Sława. This can help you decide whether the connector between two places or the loop with its varied surfaces is a better fit for your plans.

Culture and visit planning

The nationwide “Las, Woda & Blues” festival was traditionally held in early May on the shore of Jezioro Sławskie in Radzyń. The 18th edition took place from 30 April to 3 May. The festival includes a series of travel talks; in early May, blues music rings out by the shore. If you would like to plan a trip around the event, check the dates of the relevant edition in advance.

The trail destinations and cycling routes provide concrete points to help with planning; the festival adds a distinct cultural focus. When looking for hotels in Radzyń, you can first consider whether your trip will focus mainly on the trails and landscape or on the event dates.
