Lubniewice offers several distinct ways to enjoy a stay: lakes and pine forests, hiking trails with clearly identified destinations, and the park, castle complex and church in town. The town lies on a narrow strip of land between Lakes LubiÄ…ĹĽ and Krajnik. You can tailor your choices to the lakeshore, trail length or cultural sites.

Lakes and Trails Around Lubniewice

At Lakes LubiÄ…ĹĽ, Krajnik and Lubniewsko, there are well-maintained beaches with swimming areas and moorings. Activities on offer include sailing, swimming, surfing and windsurfing. Check the facilities available at each location before your trip. The lakes are also key landmarks along the hiking trails: the red trail goes around Lake LubiÄ…ĹĽ, and the black trail goes around Lake Krajnik.

Trail length and destinations offer practical guidance when choosing a route. The 8.9 km red hiking trail starts and ends in Lubniewice and goes around Lake Lubiąż. The 14 km blue trail starts at a trail junction by a lake bay and ends in Lubniewice at a historic bookshop. This makes it easy to distinguish the circular route from the trail that ends at a named destination in town. The 10.9 km green hiking trail connects Lubniewice with the Janie Nature Reserve and the MASTER equestrian centre. The 4.8 km black route starts at “Stary Zamek,” goes around Lake Krajnik and ends at the municipal office.

The European R-1 cycle route also passes through Lubniewice; 9.8 km of the route run through the municipality. So, alongside the hiking trails, cycling routes offer another way to explore the area.

Nature and Sights

The “Janie im. Włodzimierza Korsaka” Nature Reserve is located near Lubniewice. It protects a lake that is gradually silting up, with characteristic aquatic and marsh vegetation, and provides a habitat for numerous waterbird species. The green hiking trail connects Lubniewice with the reserve. Check the current access rules before visiting.

The Park of Love im. Dr Michaliny Wisłockiej is on the shore of Lake Lubiąż, between “Stary Zamek” and “Nowy Zamek.” These two buildings make up the Lubniewice castle complex. In the park, visitors can attach padlocks to the restored Mostek Miłości (Bridge of Love) as a symbol of the lasting nature of their feelings.

In the centre of Lubniewice, the Church of the Holy Cross stands on the west side of the market square. It was built by the von Waldow family in the second half of the 14th century. This historic building and the castle complex complement the lakes and trails as distinct destinations for a stay.

Plan Around Events

Folkowe Lubniewice takes place every year in the Park of Love. Concerts in the town square were also scheduled for one edition. If you want to plan your visit around the event, check the dates for your chosen year.
