Potocki Palace and its park are a major cultural highlight of Radzyń Podlaski. Churches and cycling routes offer variety too, ranging from a paved route about 3,290 metres long to a 50-kilometre regional circuit. When choosing accommodation, it is worth first considering whether architecture, history or a cycling trip will be the focus of your stay.

Potocki Palace and the Park

The Potocki Palace and Park complex took its final form between 1750 and 1759. Rich sculptural decoration defines the ensemble, with sculptures by Jan Chryzostom Redler adorning the palace. To the north lies an axially planned, symmetrical garden. A pond-canal sits at the end of its main axis. The palace park includes an approximately 8-hectare garden for strolling—a different way to experience the complex from its architecture and sculptures.

The garden’s design is also part of the experience: its distinct axis and symmetrical layout set it apart from an informal landscape. When planning your visit, you can choose how much to focus on the palace, its sculptural decoration and the garden for strolling—all aspects of the same ensemble.

Churches and Historical Traces

The Chapel of the Guardian Angels in Radzyń Podlaski was built in the 17th century. The Church of the Holy Trinity lies on the tourist route “Szlak Renesansu Lubelskiego.” It is also associated with historical events: on 2 February 1767, Ignacy Krasicki performed the marriage sacrament there for Cecylia Urszula Potocka and Prince Janusz Sanguszko. The Mniszech epitaph in the church is among the finest monuments of its kind in Poland.

The Izba Pamięci “Warszawska 5a” offers another historical perspective. Its purpose is to collect, preserve and make accessible materials commemorating the victims of Soviet and German totalitarianism in the area of Radzyń Podlaski and Radzyń County. For visitor information, Radzyń Podlaski also has a Tourist and Cultural Information Point, offering publications, souvenirs, audio guides and information materials in several languages.

In the wider Radzyń Podlaski destination

The Orangery was built around 1760 during the extensive remodelling of Eustachy Potocki’s residence, to a design by architect Jakub Fontana, and decorated with sculptures by Jan Chryzostom Redler. It is considered one of the most beautiful Rococo orangeries in Poland. In the 1950s and 1960s, the building was converted into a cinema and cultural centre. Since 1996, rotating exhibitions have been held in the “Oranżeria” gallery in its basement rooms; check the current programme separately.

The architecture of the Chapel of the Guardian Angels is also part of this regional context: it has a hexagonal floor plan, two storeys and a conical roof with a Baroque lantern. During restoration work from 2009 to 2011, stucco decorations in the Lublin Renaissance style were uncovered. The chapel was built with financial support from Vice-Chancellor Stanisław Antoni Szczuka. The annual Dni Karola Lipińskiego concert series honours the violin virtuoso and composer born in Radzyń Podlaski. Check the dates and programme for the relevant year.

Visits and Choosing a Route

The interiors of Potocki Palace and the temporary exhibitions there can only be visited with a guide. Plan around a guided tour and check the dates before your visit. The visitor regulations dated 1 July 2026 state that palace admission and visits to the exhibitions are free; check in advance whether this price information is still valid.

The “Bulwar nad Białką” cycling route is 3,290 metres long, illuminated and paved with paving stones. Parking and toilet cabins are located at the beginning and end of the route. In the wider Radzyń Podlaski destination, there is also the 50-kilometre Doliną Tyśmienicy cycling route: a circuit along public roads through Radzyń Podlaski, the Tyśmienica Valley, Czemierniki, Suchowola and Branica, returning to Radzyń Podlaski. The two routes differ significantly in length and therefore in the scale of the planned cycling trip. The circuit description dates from 2018; markings and road conditions may change, so check them before setting out.
