Kamieniec Wrocławski combines a specifically described waterway with a historic village layout. It also has a heritage conservation zone in the central part of the village and Kamieniecki Park. When looking for hotels in Kamieniec Wrocławski, you can tailor your stay to different interests: the waterway, local history, or the paths and amenities in the park.

Waterway along the Janowicki Canal

The southern waterway route from Wrocław enters the four-kilometre-long Janowicki Canal, passes beneath the road bridge to the island in Kamieniec Wrocławski, and continues to the Janowice lock. The canal and the route are not the same: the four-kilometre length refers to the canal, while the route continues as far as the lock. This distinguishes a precisely measured section of the canal from the continuation to the lock.

Village layout and historic buildings

The village has a multi-street layout that developed from a central village green; this layout is preserved in the northwestern part of the village. The term “multi-street” draws attention to the street pattern, while the green denotes the historic starting point of the settlement’s layout. In the central part of the village, a Grade B heritage conservation zone includes buildings of the former manor farm and part of the former village green. The green thus connects two perspectives on Kamieniec: it was the starting point for the settlement’s layout and is also partly included in the protected area.

The first historical mention of Kamieniec dates to 28 June 1203. Another point in time is the road bridge over the Kanał Janowicki in Kamieniec Wrocławski: it is a masonry and steel structure dating from around 1913. The combination of masonry and steel is itself a specific feature of the construction; together with the approximate date, it places the bridge in time. The two details highlight different things: the early mention of the village and the construction date of an infrastructure project.

Park and nearby area

Paths have been laid out in Kamieniecki Park, and benches and children’s play equipment have also been installed there. The park thus brings together paths, seating and play equipment as distinct features. The park differs from the waterway as a point of interest: here, paths and amenities are grouped in one named location, while the route continues along the canal to the lock.

Nearby is Lake Baikal, in the area of the villages of Gajków and Kamieniec Wrocławski. It adds a landscape point of reference in the surrounding area to the village’s features. This makes it possible to consider Kamieniecki Park and the village layout as features of the village, while the lake broadens the view to the nearby area.

Cycling planning note

A bike rental station in Kamieniec Wrocławski was planned for 1 July 2026 as part of the Wrocław city bike system: at ul. Kolejowa 8, by the primary school. If you would like to include the station in your cycling plans, check in advance whether it is currently available.
