Gothic sacred architecture, stone cultural heritage and hiking trails offer different highlights in Strzegom. When planning your trip, decide whether to focus on architecture and history, public art or routes through the countryside. The options range from individual cultural sites to hiking trails of considerably different lengths.

Gothic architecture, churches and stone heritage

The church dedicated to the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul was declared a historic monument on 22 October 2012. It is considered one of the most significant achievements of Silesian Gothic architecture. Its historic monument status and architectural significance draw attention to two aspects of the same building. If you are interested in churches and Gothic architecture, it offers a specific point of interest during your stay in Strzegom.

The Wieża Targowa can be viewed from the outside. The minor basilica in Strzegom is the fifteenth partner of Via Sacra. This offers two different perspectives: a tower that can be viewed from the outside and the basilica’s connection with Via Sacra.

The Szlak Kamienia includes 13 stone heritage sites in Strzegom. At each stop, a four-language information board marks the route. This themed trail takes in several heritage sites rather than focusing on a single building. The Aleja Rzeźby w Kamieniu offers a different way to explore: sculptures from sculpture plein airs are displayed along this walking avenue. Here, a stroll combines with public art, while the Szlak Kamienia focuses on stone heritage.

Walking routes and hikes of different lengths

Góra Krzyżowa rises above Strzegom. At 358 m above sea level, it is the highest peak in the Wzgórza Strzegomskie. There is a viewing platform at the summit, and the wooded area has numerous walking paths. The 1,300 m Trasa Turystyczna „Na Naszej Górze”, a nature and education trail, starts at the foot of the mountain. These offer different ways to explore the mountain and its surroundings: a trail focused on nature, paths through the wooded area and the platform at the summit.

Longer hikes are also connected with Strzegom. The Szlak Martyrologii is 22 km long and ends in the town. The Szlak Ułanów Legii Nadwiślańskiej starts in Strzegom, is 53 km long and leads into the mountains as a hiking trail. The routes therefore differ both in length and in whether Strzegom is their starting or ending point. Together with the 1,300 m trail at the foot of Góra Krzyżowa, they offer different scales for planning—without combining routes that are described separately into a single trail.

Considering Strzegom as an overnight destination

If you are looking for a hotel in Strzegom, the local attractions can help you choose a destination: churches and stone heritage offer a different focus from walking routes and longer hikes. Consider which of these aspects matters most to your trip.

At the municipal level, the Granitowy Szlak Tourism Centre offers tourist activities for the municipality of Strzegom and supports the development of hiking and cycling trails. The town’s summer swimming complex is another option described here; it has pools with heated water. For a specific visit, it is worth checking the seasonal information.
