Idzików combines a marked hiking trail with church architecture and evidence of the village’s history. The yellow shell on a blue background marks a hiking route that runs through the village between Międzygórze and Bystrzyca Kłodzka. Other points of interest include the parish church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, the remains of Górny Dwór and the nearby Pasterskie Skały rock formation. The route, architectural history and landscape offer different points of focus when planning a stay.

Hiking trails and route sequences

The hiking trail marked with a yellow shell on a blue background runs from Międzygórze via Góra Igliczna and Marianówka to Idzików, and continues to Bystrzyca Kłodzka. Idzików is therefore on a named route connecting these places. The order of the stops makes the route clear: after Marianówka comes Idzików, followed by Bystrzyca Kłodzka.

Another route runs from Bystrzyca Kłodzka via Wilkanów, Międzygórze, Igliczna, Szklary, Marianówka and Idzików to Pławnica, then returns to Bystrzyca Kłodzka. For your planning, the difference lies in the route: the marked hiking trail connects Międzygórze and Bystrzyca Kłodzka, while the second sequence starts in Bystrzyca and returns there. Idzików is thus once on a connection between two places and once along a route that returns to its starting point.

Church architecture and furnishings

The parish church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary stands on an irregular platform raised above the village’s main road. A churchyard wall with a gate partly surrounds the site; beside the gate stands a Baroque statue of Saint John of Nepomuk dating from 1747. The church’s character is shaped not only by its architectural features, but also by its elevated position and distinctive gate area.

Legible remains of a late Gothic-Renaissance church are preserved in the parish church. Neo-Baroque polychrome decoration and predominantly Neoclassical ornament define the interior. The older western part of the nave also contains remains of a Gothic portal, as well as a pointed-arch entrance and pointed-arch windows. Gothic architectural elements and later decorative forms stand side by side here.

The furnishings also bring together different styles and periods. The church has a Baroque-Rococo high altar with communion rails from around 1760, probably from the workshop of Michael Ignatz Klahr the Younger. Other features include an early Baroque wooden pulpit from 1679 and a stone Renaissance baptismal font from 1585. The individual pieces have specific dates and can also be distinguished by their materials and design.

Local history and landscape

The remains of Górny Dwór on the eastern edge of the village are of historical and scholarly value as evidence of local history. They add another kind of cultural heritage to the picture provided by the parish church: the church is notable for its surviving architectural and furnishing features, while Górny Dwór’s remains are valuable as evidence of the village’s history.

The Pasterskie Skały rock formation lies on a low ridge near Idzików. It is associated with a medieval legend: according to the story, local shepherds rejected bread in the 14th century and were turned to stone as punishment for their pride. Their silhouettes are said to have remained as the rocks towering above Idzików. The tale gives the landscape a folkloric connection, while the church and Górny Dwór offer other ways to explore the destination through their architectural and local history.
