Radomsko opens up a selection of trips that brings together nature, trails and culture in Radomszczański County. The landscape is especially vivid in Przedbórz Landscape Park: its size and varied routes offer different ways to get to know the region.

Landscapes and distinctive heights

Przedbórz Landscape Park extends across parts of Radomszczański, Włoszczowski, Konecki and Kielecki counties. The part of the park in Radomszczański County includes the municipalities of Przedbórz, Wielgomłyny, Masłowice and Żytno. The park primarily protects natural areas in the valley of the Pilica and its tributaries, extensive forests and pine forest complexes, as well as Jurassic and Cretaceous uplands. Valleys, forests and uplands provide different points of reference in the landscape.

Fajna Ryba offers a particularly clear landmark: this rise is in the municipality of Przedbórz and reaches 347 metres above sea level. It is the highest natural elevation both in Radomszczański County and in the Łódź Voivodeship. Those who want to explore the heights of the landscape park will also encounter its name on the Yellow Trail.

Walking and water trails

The 39-kilometre Yellow Royal Hunting Trail runs from Przedbórz to Krasocin. Its route passes through Jabłonna, Brzostek, Góra Czerwony Kamień, Góra Fajna Ryba, Góra Kozłowa, Dojo Stara Wieś, Żeleźnica and Oleszno, as well as over the highest elevations of Przedbórz Landscape Park. For walkers, this is a tour with a clearly stated length and a route that crosses several distinctive heights.

The Red Trail starts at Majowa Góra and continues through Przedbórz, the town park and the Old Town to Wierzchlas. It then passes through Piskorzeniec Nature Reserve, over Góra Krzemycza and through Murawy Dobromierskie Nature Reserve; other named stops include Borowa, Góry Mokre, Góry Suche–Fajna Ryba and Góra Kozłowa. The Blue Trail starts at the PKS bus stop in Góry Mokre, by the Chapel of St Florian. It runs via Przełęcz Mokrą, Góra Kozłowa, Stara Wieś, Kajetanów, Żeleźnica, Oleszno Nature Reserve, Dąbrówki, Wola Świdzińska, Kozia Góra, Komorniki and Kluczewsko. It is known as the trail of the royal hunts of Casimir the Great.

The Black Trail is also among the routes described: it runs from the former ZHP station in Mrowina via Dobromierz. The station is no longer in operation. Another starting point is the educational and ecological trail in the Gidle Forest District. It begins near the Żytno forester's lodge and passes through areas of scenic and natural interest; no more detailed route description is provided.

Kayaking, cycling, horse riding and water activities

Those who would rather choose a paddling route than a walking trail will find an approximately 25-kilometre kayak route in Radomszczański County. It passes through Maluszyn, Ciemiętniki, Bobrowniki, Krzętów, Biały Brzeg and Przedbórz. At around 25 kilometres, its stated length offers a different point of reference from the Yellow Trail's 39 kilometres; the two routes also differ in the type of tour they offer.

The Pilica Valley Trail can be used for walking, cycling, horse riding and cross-country skiing. This trail therefore offers several activities. You can swim at the supervised waters in Zakrzówek Szlachecki and Przedbórz, and rent pedal boats or kayaks. The options range from trails through uplands and forest areas to activities on the water.

Culture in Przedbórz

The Muzeum Ludowe in Przedbórz displays a peasant room furnished in the style of the 19th century. Its features include a chimney, a stove with a bench, a working loom, and old implements and furniture from the Przedbórz region. Another exhibition recalls disappearing crafts, including saddlery, shoemaking, timber construction, basketry, sieve-making and pottery. The peasant room and craft exhibition offer two distinct ways to explore the region's everyday and working culture.

Przedbórz Town Hall is another landmark connected with the town's history: it was built between 1838 and 1840 in the Neoclassical style. For a taste of local cuisine in the county, Przedborski kugiel and radomszczańska zalewajka are highlighted as dishes enjoyed by visitors.
