The ZHP Training and Recreation Centre “Nadwarciański Gród” is located in Załęcze Wielkie, in Załęczański Park Krajobrazowy Landscape Park. Several hiking and cycling routes start or end there; other tours and educational trails are part of the wider travel area. When planning a stay, it is worth looking first at route length, mode of travel and theme: the options differ considerably and do not simply make up a single tour.

Circular route or hike?

“Trasa Nr 1” is a circular route of about 23 km for hiking or cycling. From Nadwarciański Gród, it goes via Kępowizna, Bieniec, Przywóz, Ogroble and Madeły before returning to the starting point. “Trasa Nr 2” is shorter, at about 15 km, and is a hiking route: it runs from the same centre via Kępowizna, Bieniec, Dzietrzniki and the “Objawienie” spring before returning. So when choosing between the two, it is not just the distance that matters. Cycling is explicitly possible on Nr 1, while Nr 2 is a hiking route; the intermediate places mentioned also differ.

Another option is “Trasa A” of the “Załęczański Łuk Warty.” It is a 10.2 km main route for hikers and cyclists from Nadwarciański Gród via Bukowce to the bridge in Bobrownie. It therefore differs from routes Nr 1 and Nr 2 in both length and course.

Other routes in the travel area

In the wider travel area, the northern “Trasa B” and southern “Trasa C” add to the selection. B is 15 km long and described as a hiking or cycling route. It starts at the quarry near Bobrowniki, goes via Ogroble, Kurhany Książęce and Wąwóz Królowej Bony, and ends at Nadwarciański Gród. C is 12.5 km long and can also be travelled on foot or by bike: it runs from the “Węże” nature reserve via Mount “Wapiennik” to the centre. Both therefore lead to the same endpoint, but approach it along different routes and are designated as the northern and southern routes, respectively.

When comparing the 15 km options, the mode of travel also matters: “Trasa Nr 2” is a hiking route; “Trasa B” is a hiking or cycling route. Their intermediate destinations also differ. This makes it possible to choose a route based on the desired mode of travel and course, rather than relying on similar distance alone.

Geology and educational trails

Those interested in landscape features can find the “Wielki Łuk Warty” geological educational trail in the wider travel area. Visitors can learn about the natural features, geology and present-day topography of Załęczański Park Krajobrazowy and follow geological processes along the trail. This has a different focus from the routes, whose descriptions mainly distinguish them by course, length and mode of travel.

The “Źródełko” forest educational and recreation trail is also in the wider travel area and is about 6 km long. The “Ośrodek” educational trail is 3 km long; the walk is listed as taking about 1.5 hours. These details offer a concrete comparison for planning: both the distance and approximate walking time are given for the Ośrodek trail, while “Źródełko” can be considered a longer educational and recreation trail. The geological educational trail, meanwhile, focuses on understanding the landscape and geological processes.

Choose the focus of your stay

If you are planning a stay in Załęcze Wielkie, you can choose your routes based on what you want to do: take a circular route, go for a hike, choose a route that can also be cycled, or follow an educational trail with a geological focus. The routes starting from Nadwarciański Gród offer a range of different distances and courses; the educational trails add nature and geology themes to the selection.
