Two two-hour routes from Biały Dunajec head in different directions: one hiking route passes through Tatary and Ząb to Gubałówka, while a walk begins in the oldest part of the village and heads towards Poronin. There are also other hikes and cycling routes with different destinations. For planning, it is therefore important to consider not only the stated durations but also the specific routes and whether a tour returns to Biały Dunajec or ends somewhere else.

Hiking: Routes to Gubałówka and Kuny

There are two different hiking routes from Biały Dunajec to Gubałówka. The two-hour route passes through Tatary and Ząb, follows the Pogórze Gubałowskie ridge and offers views of the Tatra Mountains and the surrounding area. A second route, listed as taking three hours, reaches Gubałówka via Leszczyny, Sierockie, Rolów Wierch and Ząb. Having the same destination makes the routes easy to compare; their different durations and the places named for each distinguish the options.

Another hike takes three and a half hours, passing through Stołowe, Gliczarów Górny, Gliczarów Dolny and Wojtusiców Wierch before reaching Kuny. With the longest stated duration of these three hikes, it leads not to Gubałówka but to a different destination.

The two-hour walk “Walk around Biały Dunajec” begins in Sołtystwo, the oldest part of the village. It follows the valley of the Biały Dunajec stream and continues along Jana Pawła II, Kościuszki, Miłośników Podhala and Piłsudskiego streets towards Poronin. Here, two routes with the same stated duration are different tours: the hike to Gubałówka features the Pogórze Gubałowskie ridge and views of the Tatra Mountains, while the walk takes in the older part of the village, the stream valley and a sequence of streets heading towards Poronin.

Cycling routes: a loop or a route with a destination

The approximately 15-kilometre cycling route goes from Biały Dunajec through Gliczarów Dolny and Gliczarów Górny and back to Biały Dunajec. Two difficult routes that start at the municipal office follow different paths. The 12-kilometre route includes 300 metres of elevation gain, has a stated riding time of three hours and continues towards Gliczarów Górny. The second difficult route is 20 kilometres long, also has 300 metres of elevation gain and leads to Bukowina Tatrzańska; its stated riding time is two and a half hours.

The cycling options can therefore be compared by distance, destination and stated time: the 12-kilometre route towards Gliczarów Górny is set against the 20-kilometre route to Bukowina Tatrzańska, while both routes are listed as having 300 metres of elevation gain. The stated riding time for the longer route is shorter. When choosing, it is therefore worth considering the destination, route length and stated time together, rather than assuming the riding time based on distance alone.
