Krzywaczka offers two clear starting points for planning a trip: routes with stated walking times and historic groups of buildings, from the church ensemble to the former inn. The “Spacer po Krzywaczce” quest combines a walk with views of the surrounding Beskid ranges; a blue hiking trail also passes through the village. This lets you weigh specific walking times, a route connecting Bukowiec and Skawina, and a focus on architecture.
Quests and Routes
The stated walking time for the “Spacer po Krzywaczce” quest is about 60 minutes. Its special feature is the views of the surrounding Beskid ranges. The “Skarby Krzywaczki” quest is estimated to take about 40 minutes. These approximate times offer a rough comparison for the walks; check the route details before your trip.
The blue Szlak Sułkowickich Kowali is another option: it leads from Bukowiec through Krzywaczka to Skawina. Unlike the two quests, this route connects three named places. If you plan to take it, check the current trail markings in advance.
Church and Cemetery Chapel
The Holy Trinity ensemble comprises the parish church and its surroundings, with mature trees and an enclosure. The rectory complex includes the rectory, a barn and utility buildings. The cemetery, with its chapel, trees and gravestones dating from the mid-19th century, is also part of the group of buildings. The term “church ensemble” therefore draws attention to several buildings, the trees and the enclosure, not just the church itself.
The church building dates from 1924 and has a Neo-Gothic altar and a statue of the Madonna. The cemetery is also home to the Neo-Gothic Schmidt family burial chapel. It has a single nave, a rectangular floor plan and a three-sided apse at the northern end. The sandstone portal is decorated with half-column and lotus-leaf motifs. The chapel also has a wooden altar and the Schmidt family crypt of the founders beneath it.
Manor House and Former Inn Ensemble
The non-religious groups of buildings include the manor house ensemble, comprising a manor house and park. The former inn ensemble includes an inn, a carriage shed with a stable, and a wall with gates. The dates refer to different components: the carriage shed with stable and the wall with gates date from 1816, while the inn dates from 1817. This makes it possible to distinguish the chronology of the components from the inn as a separate building.
Getting Your Bearings
The quests start at the cultural center opposite the church. From National Road 52, turn off at the inn and walk towards the church; these directions are intended to help you find your way. Check the route details before setting off. As a rough guide to the area, Głogoczów is about 4 km from Krzywaczka.
