Borówna offers two distinct themes for planning a trip: sacred buildings with specific dates and architectural styles, and the route between Borówna and Chronów. This local perspective spans everything from cultural history to a described route.

The Church and Heritage Education

The Church of Saint Stanislaus was built at the initiative of parishioners in Borówna. It was consecrated on 3 April 2003. The altar contains relics of Saint Ursula Ledóchowska. These details highlight different aspects: the initiative concerns the church’s origins, the date its consecration, and the relics the altar.

The Ecological Education Centre in Borówna was also established in 2003. Its main purpose is education about protecting cultural, historical and social heritage. The same year is given for the church’s consecration and the centre’s establishment, but these are two different events. The educational aim covers several areas of heritage and goes beyond focusing on a single building.

Chapels: Architectural Styles and Dates

The sacred buildings also include several chapels with different characteristics. The Chapel of the Sacred Heart is a stone shrine near plot No. 27 and dates from 1910. The chapel with the Crucifixion group is also a stone shrine; it is located near plot No. 40 and dates from 1890. In the centre of the village stands the Chapel of Saint John of Nepomuk, a wooden chapel on a stone pillar dating from the 17th/19th century. The Garpiel Chapel is built of brick and is located at plot No. 83.

The two stone shrines can be distinguished by their individual dates: 1890 belongs to the chapel with the Crucifixion group, and 1910 to the Chapel of the Sacred Heart. The date given for the Chapel of Saint John of Nepomuk, by contrast, is the 17th/19th century. Their construction also differs: the stone shrines stand alongside a wooden chapel on a stone pillar and a brick-built chapel. The named sites can therefore be compared by both date and architectural style.

Route between Borówna and Chronów

The route between Borówna and Chronów begins at the Ecological Education Centre. It follows an asphalt road towards Chronów, crosses the Borowianka stream and runs through the forest to the Kobyla Góra elevation (364 m). The Skałki Chronowskie natural monument is located on the elevation.

For orientation, it is helpful to distinguish between the elevation and the natural monument: Kobyla Góra is the landform, while Skałki Chronowskie is the natural monument located there. The route can also be described by its sequence—from the asphalt road, across the stream and through the forest, to the elevation. The height of 364 m refers to Kobyla Góra.
