When choosing Młodocin for a stay, you can focus on trails or historical architecture: the blue Pałuki Trail passes through the village, and Młodocin lies along the route of a star-shaped cycling trail. There is also a privately owned palace and park complex featuring a neoclassical palace and mature trees. When planning your visit, you can decide which of these local features interests you most.

Hiking and cycling in Młodocin

The blue-marked Pałuki Trail passes through Młodocin. The 4 km section within the Barcin municipality allows you to visit Młodocin and Pturek and offers views of the Noteć River and Lake Wolickie. Before setting out on a hike, check the trail’s current status as you plan your route.

A star-shaped cycling route, described as scenic, runs from Barcin via Wolice, Wójcin, Kierzkowo, Młodocin, Pturek and Knieja, and back to Barcin. It was established in 2009. Before cycling, it is advisable to check the route’s current status.

The routes differ both in how you travel and in how they are described: the hiking trail has a named 4 km section within the Barcin municipality, while the cycling route is defined by its star-shaped layout and the sequence of several villages. This allows you to compare a clearly defined hiking section with a round trip that returns to Barcin. Młodocin is explicitly included on both routes.

Palace and park complex

The palace and park complex lies 6 km west of Barcin on Road No. 251 between Inowrocław and Żnin. It is privately owned. If you are planning a visit, check access arrangements in advance.

The palace is a brick building in the neoclassical style. At the front of the manor house, a columned portico supports a balcony. A portico is a porch supported by columns; here, it combines the columns with the balcony above. The references to brick and neoclassicism describe two different aspects: the building material and the architectural style.

The park covers 1.2 hectares, or 12,000 square metres. Its main tree species are wych elms, Norway maples, common ashes, small-leaved limes and black locusts. Taken together, the area and the list of predominant tree species give a specific picture of the park’s described features.

The historic complex’s mature trees include three natural monuments: two small-leaved limes with trunk circumferences of 310 cm and 550 cm, and a pedunculate oak with a trunk circumference of 330 cm. The lime with a circumference of 550 cm has the largest of the three measurements listed. The oak is 20 cm larger than the smaller lime and 220 cm smaller than the larger one, allowing you to compare the measurements of the individual natural monuments directly.
