Tleń is a tourist destination for relaxation, with numerous walking, cycling and water routes. You can enjoy walks along the Prusina or Wda rivers during your stay; several circular routes start in Tleń, while other routes extend beyond the town. The townscape also features distinctive details: wooden sculptures in a square, the historic railway station complex and a boulder near the railway bridge. This lets you include nature trails, local history and routes of varying lengths in your plans.

Townscape and History

Four-metre-high wooden sculptures stand in a square in Tleń. They depict a mushroom picker, a forestry worker, an angler and a chub. The same square also features a memorial stone and a plaque about Prof. Alfons Hoffmann. The sculptures combine themes of forestry and fishing with the image of a fish; the memorial stone and plaque add another historical connection to the square.

The complex of railway station buildings, which is considered a highly valuable heritage site, is also a preserved element of the historic town structure. Anyone interested in the history of a place will find a different perspective here than at the sculptures: in one case, individual motifs and memorials shape the scene; in the other, it is an entire ensemble of buildings.

Beside the railway bridge lies a boulder partly covered in lichen and designated a natural monument. It has a circumference of 12.3 metres; it is 4.8 metres long, 4.9 metres wide and 1.4 metres high. These measurements give a tangible impression of the rock, while its location beside the bridge makes it a landmark in the townscape.

Walks and Hiking Routes

For a walk, you can follow the Prusina or Wda rivers. Do Piekła is a short, easy circular route: this hiking and Nordic walking trail starts in Tleń, runs along the Wda and is 3.3 kilometres long. The 5.2-kilometre Na perłowym szlaku circular route also starts in Tleń, goes around Lake Mukrz and offers numerous viewpoints. If you are choosing by distance and route, you can opt for a shorter loop along the Wda or a longer circuit around the lake with viewpoints.

The Piętaszków hiking trail leads from a crossroads on the road from Tleń to the water station along a forest path towards Lake Mukrz, then continues along the lakeshore. At this point, kayakers carry their kayaks between the Żur Reservoir and Lake Mukrz. This section therefore combines a forest and lakeside path with a crossing between the two bodies of water.

Another longer hiking route is Ścieżynka Zagłoby. It runs from Tleń via Lake Piaseczno, Stara Rzeka and Radańska to Osie. The route connects several named places; unlike the two circular trails, it focuses on a sequence of stops and a destination.

Water Routes, Cycling and Running Trails

A cycling route is also named: the Tropami II Rzeczypospolitej loop connects Osie, Tleń, Wierzchy, Łążek and Starą Rzekę. It passes through several places and differs from the hiking loops, which start in Tleń and return to their starting point.

A project proposes two forest running trails: Leśny Trail, 3 kilometres long, and Klaudi Adventure, 5 kilometres long. Both routes lie entirely in the forest; one starting point is in Tleń. The different distances and route types can help you decide what to focus on during your stay: a walk by the river, a loop around the lake, a route connecting several places or one of the planned forest running trails.
