The “Panorama” educational cycling route passes through the most interesting areas of Turek County in terms of landscape, natural environment and culture. In six stages, it reaches every municipality in the county. This offers a county-wide perspective on landscape, nature and culture; the “Zdrojki” and “Bogdałów” routes add further points of interest.

Cycling routes and landscapes

The “Zdrojki” routes are located in the southeastern part of the Złotogórski Landscape Protection Area. The first cycling route in this network starts at the Turek Forest District office and is 23.5 km long. While “Panorama” traverses the county in six stages, this Zdrojki route offers a specific starting point and a defined distance. This allows you to choose between a county-wide stage-based route and an individually described route linked to a protected area.

The “Bogdałów” routes pass through the most interesting areas of Turek County in terms of landscape and natural environment. They all start and end at the “Bogdałów” forest car park, beside a 10-hectare body of water created in a former open-pit mine. This shared starting and finishing point provides a clear reference for these routes. The reservoir near Przykona lies on an internal spoil heap of the Adamów open-pit mine and along the course of the former bed of the Middle Teleszyna River. Its location brings together a waterside landscape, the former river course and traces of mining.

Historic sites and architectural forms

In Wyszyna, the ruins of a Renaissance castle rise near the church above the floodplains of the Topiec River. The castle was probably built around 1556 by the Grodziecki family, who bore the Dryja coat of arms. The sanctuary in Wyszyna is one of three such churches in Europe and the only wooden 16-sided church in Poland. Wyszyna thus has two distinct historic landmarks: a castle probably built around the mid-16th century and a church distinguished by its unusual architectural form.

The manor house and park complex in Słodków is also a protected historic monument. Its design, still evident today, took shape around the middle of the 19th century. The “Skarbiec” Hutsul horse stud has been operating in Młodzianów since 2003, adding another, quite different site to the protected historic properties.

Greater Poland: comparing two educational trails

In the wider destination of Greater Poland, the Osowa Góra–Jeziory educational trail covers 5.5 km one way and takes three hours to walk. It introduces the main plant communities and the natural features of areas under strict protection, and ends at a viewpoint overlooking the castle island in Lake Góreckie. The Nadwarciański educational trail is 5.5 km long and takes three and a half hours to walk. It runs along the Warta River and showcases habitats ranging from poplar-willow riparian forest to pine forests. The trails have different focuses: Osowa Góra–Jeziory highlights plant communities, protected areas and the viewpoint, while the Nadwarciański trail draws attention to the river and the diversity of habitats.
