A wooden church built between 1765 and 1767 and a seven-hectare landscape park showcase two distinct sides of Golina. The municipality also offers cultural attractions and cycling activities, including the Museum of Handicrafts in Węglew and a themed trail with several stops in localities across the area. This offers a perspective ranging from architecture and landscape in the town to traditions and routes that extend across the municipality.

Wooden Church and Cultural Trail

The wooden Church of St. James the Apostle in Golina was built between 1765 and 1767. Its interior has three naves and is furnished in the Baroque and Rococo styles. The three-nave floor plan describes the layout of the interior; the Baroque and Rococo furnishings add a distinct art-historical aspect to the building’s design. This makes it possible to distinguish the building’s construction period, wooden structure, and interior design, rather than describing the church only by its style. The parish church is part of the “Wooden Churches of Konin County” cultural trail, placing it within a regional route organized around a shared theme.

Landscape Park at the Manor House

The seven-hectare landscape park at the manor house in Golina offers a different focus. It has a rich tree population, including many trees protected as natural monuments. There is also an island in the park, surrounded by a moat. Unlike the wooden church, the focus here is not on construction period and furnishings, but on the trees and the island surrounded by water. Both attractions are in Golina and offer different perspectives on the town: historic wooden architecture and landscape features.

Cycling Activities and Routes

“Rodzinne Rajdy Rowerowe” (Family Cycling Rallies) are organized in the municipality of Golina. A municipal strategy for 2016–2026 also describes a cycling route that runs between churches in the Warta River valley landscape, along a flood embankment. The strategy also names the ferry crossing over the Warta in Sławsk and the landscape park in Golina as additional attractions along a cycling route. Thus, the offer includes both a cycling activity organized by the municipality and routes with named cultural and landscape points of interest. If you plan to join a rally or take the ferry, check the event dates or ferry schedule in advance.

Handicrafts and Traditional Trades

The private Museum of Handicrafts in Węglew has 450 exhibits on disappearing trades and the former way of life of the inhabitants of the Konin region; the size of the collection may change. Next to the museum is a park dedicated to vanishing and disappearing trades. The museum hosts festivals, concerts, and educational workshops.

The municipal cultural heritage program describes the tourist and educational “Trail of Vanishing Trades and Traditions.” It begins at the Museum of Handicrafts in Węglew Kolonia and leads, among other places, to Ląd, Zagórów, Turek, Brudzew, Jabłków near Kramsk, Brdów, Budzisław Kościelny, and Kazimierz Biskupi; it then returns to Lubiecz in the municipality of Golina. Along the way, it introduces folk artists who keep traditional crafts alive. The trail extends the perspective from Węglew to several other places and includes traditional crafts and the people who keep them alive.
