A trip to Tłokinia Kościelna offers two specific points of interest: religious art and cycling. The historical landmarks are located in the south, at St. James’s Church, and along a path in the northern part of the palace park. There are also two route descriptions of different lengths. This lets you decide whether historical details or the route itself should take priority in your plans.

St. James’s Church: Architecture and furnishings

In the southern part of Tłokinia Kościelna stand the wooden St. James’s Church, dating from the early 18th century, and a parish cemetery. The dates of the building and its furnishings point to different periods. The main altar features a 17th-century copy of the painting of Our Lady of Częstochowa, known as Matka Boska Tłokińska. The church also contains a sliding painting of the Holy Family from the first half of the 18th century. These details relate to different items: the church dates from the early 18th century, while the copy of the altarpiece is from the 17th century and the sliding painting is dated to the first half of the 18th century. If you are interested in the art, you can distinguish the building, the main altarpiece and the other painted image.

Palace Park and Stone Cross

In the northern part of the palace park, a hornbeam avenue leads to a stone cross dedicated to Stanisław Chrystowski. Chrystowski died in 1896. The dedication and his year of death give the destination a personal connection; the date marks his death. The cultural features here are the avenue, cross and dedication, while the church brings together its architecture and sacred images. These are two distinct historical points of interest: the furnishings of a church interior and a dedicated monument in the park.

Cycling routes and distances

When planning a cycling trip, it is worth distinguishing a single section from a longer route. In May 2020, the county reported the completion of a 1.417 km-long cycle path along county road 4327 P between Tłokinia Kościelna and Rożdżały. This refers to a specific section and names its two endpoints. A cycling route described on July 16, 2025, is 36.1 km long, passes through Tłokinia Kościelna and connects Krzyżówki with Kalisz Winiary. It runs through Koźlątków, Zakrzyn, Lisków, Dębsko, Emilianów, Osuchów, Murowaniec Zalew, Dębe Kolonia, Stary Nakwasin, Słoneczna, Rożdżały and Nędzerzew. The two distances therefore describe routes on different scales: a road section between two places and a longer route with numerous named intermediate places. When choosing, it is therefore important to consider which route description matches the scope of your planned ride.

Taken together, the local points of interest answer different questions: the church brings together architectural and artistic history, the park path leads to a dedicated stone cross, and the cycling information distinguishes a clearly defined section from a longer connection.
