Puente Piedra offers two distinct themes to consider when planning a trip: cultural heritage and active recreation. The Museo Municipal focuses on archaeological reproductions and the cultural heritage of Lima Norte; the skate park is designed for skaters of all skill levels. The Palacio de la Cultura and the Biblioteca Municipal provide additional points of interest as a cultural center and reading room, respectively.

Cultural history at the Palacio de la Cultura

The Museo Municipal del Distrito de Puente Piedra is located on the first floor of the Palacio de la Cultura at Av. San Lorenzo 426. It displays a collection of reproductions of movable archaeological cultural artifacts recovered during work on natural gas networks. The collection thus connects archaeological content with a specific recovery context: work on natural gas networks.

The museum was established by Ordinance No. 416-MDPP on July 21, 2022. Its purpose is to protect and promote the cultural heritage of Lima Norte. This places it in two distinct contexts: the museum is located in Puente Piedra, while its mandate is explicitly focused on the cultural heritage of Lima Norte.

The Palacio de la Cultura is a cultural center with a museum and cultural activities. Another cultural attraction in Puente Piedra is the Circuito Turístico Yachay: it aims to promote Puente Piedra’s cultural identity, local development, and inclusion, as well as raise awareness of resource sustainability through tourism. Its goals therefore address both cultural and social concerns.

The skate park as a sporting highlight

The skate park at Av. Antigua Panamericana Nte. 25 is for skaters of all skill levels. Its ramps and obstacles are designed for training and skating. Unlike the collection and cultural center, this is a place for active skateboarding. Puente Piedra therefore offers a range of interests: cultural attractions on the one hand and a sporting option on the other.

Library and addresses

The Biblioteca Municipal César Vallejo is located at Av. Juan Lecaros 426 and has a reading room. The building is equipped with stairs and an elevator, ensuring accessibility for everyone. If you plan to visit the library, check the visiting arrangements in advance.

The full street name is important for finding your way: the museum is at Av. San Lorenzo 426, and the library is at Av. Juan Lecaros 426. Although both addresses have the same building number, they are on different streets. When searching, use the name of the specific institution and street rather than relying on the building number alone.
