The Kampina and Seasonal Experiences
The Kampina is characterised by wet heathland and pools, as well as fragrant bog myrtle bushes, meadows, deciduous forests and blue moor-grass meadows. Those who also want to experience the landscape during their stay can explore a less-visited part of the area through the Banisveld route, which offers a cultural-historical perspective. The Rondje Boxtel, by contrast, is a canoe trip: it is approximately 9 kilometres long and takes about 2 to 2.5 hours. These approximate figures help you estimate how much time to allow for the activity. The activity is seasonal, and its operating period may change. So check before your visit whether it is available during your travel dates.
The Heilig Bloedprocessie is also tied to a specific date. It takes place on Corpus Christi, the first Sunday after Pentecost; the calendar date changes from year to year. If you want to plan your trip around it, check the date for the year in question.
