At the 2025 edition of the food fair in Kameno, local cuisine, a cultural program, and a guided educational hike came together. This brought culinary and cultural activities together in one event program. Individual program items may vary from one edition to another, so plan a visit around the program for the relevant edition.

Hiking trails in the wider Herceg-Novi destination
In the wider Herceg-Novi destination, the Herceg Novi–Kameno–Borići–“Za Vratlom” mountain hut trail connects Herceg Novi with Orjen. It also serves as an access trail to the Orjen–Lovćen–Rumija national long-distance hiking route. Kameno is therefore part of the name of this described trail; its connection to Orjen and the long-distance route is a separate aspect of the wider destination.
Orjen Nature Park lies in the hinterland of Herceg Novi, on Mount Orjen. Its marked trail network ranges from easy walking paths to routes for experienced mountaineers. The park is connected by the Herceg Novi–Trebinje road; it can be reached from the center of Herceg Novi on foot via a marked trail in less than two hours.
Other routes offer different highlights: the Tatar bašta–Sušćepan–Ratiševina–Mokrine trail connects villages in the hinterland and churches with viewpoints. It is suitable for walking and easy mountain hiking. The trail to Veliki Kabao, at 1,894 meters, is considered one of Orjen’s most attractive and less difficult routes, as well as Montenegro’s oldest purpose-built hiking trail. These offer different hiking options: one through inhabited landscapes, the other to a high mountain destination.
Also in the wider Herceg-Novi destination, Vrbanj Adventure Park is set in a beech forest at an elevation of 1,100 meters. Its 7,000 square meters feature 44 elements across four courses, with a 200-meter zip-line course as the fifth. The courses range from options for children aged six and up to those for experienced users. Eight certified instructors are available to visitors.
Culture and season in the wider Herceg-Novi destination
The historic buildings also reflect different sides of Herceg-Novi. Kanli Kula, a fortress in the Old Town, was built by the Ottomans in 1539. The Clock Tower was built in 1667 on the orders of Sultan Mahmud and forms the entrance to the Old Town. Forte Mare, located right on the coast, guarded the city’s entrance from the sea; from there, the view extends to the entrance to the Bay of Kotor, the city harbor, Igalo, and the Old Town.
The Mirko Komnenović City Museum opened in 1953 and preserves historical, archaeological, ethnological, and icon collections. It is surrounded by a botanical garden with rare plants and offers a sea view. The Mimosa Festival is a seasonal highlight for culture and events: founded in 1969, the traditional festival features masked balls, carnival events, concerts, and numerous children’s, arts, and sports programs in February and March. The Fish and Wine Festival is also part of the festival.
