Pond fishing and coastal experiences

In Tambak Cemandi, a journey of discovery in Sidoarjo begins at the ponds: some pond farmers offer fishing tourism. Visitors fish directly in the pond and can take their catch home. Those who want to eat it on site can grill their catch at the pond; fish-grilling stalls are available for this. It brings fishing and local fish cuisine together. The coastal landscape takes centre stage at Wisata Bahari Curah Asmoro in Desa Tambak Cemandi. Visitors can see unusual sea jellyfish that do not sting. This depends on the season and environmental conditions. The area also has a jetty established by the village administration. Boats depart from there for trips towards the coast; the village BUMDes arranges these trips. Check the boat arrangements again before your trip.

A different type of landscape can be found in Kecamatan Jabon: Pulau Lusi, formerly called Pulau Sarinah, is a river island. It was formed from mud sediments discharged into the Porong River. The coast and the river island thus reflect the different landscapes found in Sidoarjo.

Temples and religious sites

Candi Pari, in the village of Candipari, Kecamatan Porong, Kabupaten Sidoarjo, is a cultural heritage site from the classical period and is still used as a place of worship by Hindu devotees. At Candi Dermo, the focus is on its architectural features: this Hindu-Buddhist cultural heritage site from the classical period in Kabupaten Sidoarjo preserves a temple structure, relief carvings and stone blocks. Candi Sumur is also a cultural heritage site from the classical period in Kabupaten Sidoarjo. Together, the three sites showcase different facets of cultural heritage.

Makam Aulia Sono, in Desa Sidokerto, Kecamatan Buduran, Sidoarjo, is a religious tourism site. It includes five main graves revered by residents of Sidoarjo and people from Jawa Timur. The region is therefore home both to historic cultural heritage sites and to places of ongoing religious significance.

Learning sites, games and museums

Kampung Lali Gadget is a village learning and play site in Bendet, Desa Pagerngumbuk, Kecamatan Wonoayu, Kabupaten Sidoarjo. Traditional games include Dakon, Egrang, Gobak Sodor and Bakiak Panjang. Other activities teach children a sense of community, creativity and local knowledge. Activities may vary depending on the programme schedule, so check the itinerary in advance.

Rumah Pintar Juanda Cendekia, also known as Museum Pintar Juanda, is located within the Lanudal Juanda naval air base complex in Kepuh, Betro, Kecamatan Sedati. It is an educational destination. Museum Penerbangan Juanda is also located within the complex. Its historical collections focus on Indonesian naval aviation; as an educational destination, it appeals to people interested in aviation and military history.
