The Kasunanan Palace was built in 1744 by Susuhan Pakubuwono II to replace the Kartasura Palace. Kartasura had been destroyed in 1743 during the Geger Pecinan uprising. Sepur Kluthuk Jaladara is a steam-train city tour. It uses a C1218-class locomotive, built in Germany in 1896, and can carry up to 80 passengers. The route, approximately 5.6 kilometers long, begins at Purwosari Station, follows Jalan Slamet Riyadi and ends at Solo Station. Along the way, the train passes Lodji Gandrung, Sriwedari Park, the Radyapustaka Museum, the Museum Batik Danar Hadi and Kampung Batik Kauman.
