When planning a stay in Káptalanfüred, you can consider the beaches, cycling routes and nature separately. The two beaches offer different facilities; the Balaton Cycling Route runs directly in front of Káptalanfüredi Nagy strand and alongside Káptalanfüredi kis strand. Further afield, there is also a marked circular route through Balatonalmádi. When looking for a holiday apartment, you can first decide whether you want to focus mainly on the beach facilities, cycling or an excursion along a marked route.

Beaches and Cycling Route

Pedal boats and kayaks can be rented at Káptalanfüredi Nagy strand. The Balaton Cycling Route runs directly in front of the beach. Facilities include a children's playground, a sandy cove, a beach volleyball court, a sun terrace, a small-sided football pitch and outdoor fitness equipment.

Káptalanfüredi kis strand is located alongside the Balaton Cycling Route and is easy to reach by bike. It has a snack bar serving hot food and sanitary facilities, as well as a beach volleyball court, a swing and a climbing frame.

The larger beach combines rentals with play, sports and leisure facilities. The smaller beach has a snack bar serving hot food, sanitary facilities, a swing and a climbing frame; both beaches have beach volleyball. This makes it easy to compare the two locations based on the facilities you want.

A Circular Route Further Afield

Further afield from Káptalanfüred, the Vörös Homokkő Tanösvény is a circular route of about six kilometres through Balatonalmádi, marked with blue triangles. The loop takes around two hours and offers insights into the town's present and past. Its length and duration provide a concrete basis for planning; its location in Balatonalmádi clearly distinguishes this excursion from the beach facilities in Káptalanfüred.

Nature by Lake Köcsi

The Köcsi-tó nature trail is on the shore of Lake Köcsi, on the border of Káptalanfüred. The rare blue-green manna grass grows in the lake area; its occurrence is considered the first known in the Bakony region. This nature spot therefore combines a precisely named lakeside location with a botanical note of regional significance.

The two routes differ mainly in their location and planning requirements: Vörös Homokkő is a marked circular route through Balatonalmádi, with an approximate length and duration; the Köcsi-tó nature trail is on the lakeshore, on the border of Káptalanfüred. This means you can choose between a loop with a set time frame further afield and a nature trail by the lake.

History and Architecture

The town's history includes Káptalanfüred's designation as a spa and resort in 1938 and the Angyalos Boldogasszony Chapel. The chapel building is an unfinished part of an ambitious plan. These historical themes range from a dated designation of the town to a specific architectural context, adding a cultural perspective to a stay centred on beaches and nature.
