Tápiószele can be explored through several clearly distinct themes: the architecture of the Kisboldogasszony Church, the interior exhibition at the Blaskovich Museum, and two nature trails with different focuses. When choosing according to your interests, the difference between the nature trails is particularly useful. The Fehér gólya Nature Trail focuses on small streams and wetlands; the botanical trail combines natural features with architectural and cultural heritage. The church’s architecture and the protection history of the former manor garden are also specific features of the town.

Kisboldogasszony Church: Gothic chancel, Baroque nave

The free-standing, three-nave Kisboldogasszony Church has a tower on its façade. Its chancel is Gothic, while its nave is Baroque. This means that different stylistic features coexist in one church building, rather than a single style term describing all its parts. “Three-nave” refers to the division of the church interior into three naves; the chancel and nave are distinct parts of the building. Visitors interested in ecclesiastical architecture can therefore pay attention both to the spatial layout and to the different stylistic classifications.

Blaskovich Museum: Interior exhibition in seven rooms

The Blaskovich Museum offers a different cultural focus. In seven rooms, it presents an interior exhibition about the culture and material artefacts of the progressive lesser nobility. The exhibits were assembled by three generations. Compared with the church, the perspective shifts from architectural features and stylistic classifications to the culture and material artefacts of a social group. The exhibition combines these themes with an interior display, giving it a different focus from an examination of individual architectural features.

Fehér gólya Nature Trail: Stream and wetlands

The Fehér gólya Nature Trail has eight stations and runs along the right bank of the Tápió stream, from the Néprajzi Ház to the local fishing lake. Its focus is the animal and plant life of small streams and wetlands, particularly in relation to the conditions of the Tápió. The first station highlights the white stork’s regular return over many years to its nest on a utility pole. The stork is one specific motif within a broader nature theme: the trail also draws attention to waterside habitats and their animal and plant life.

Botanical trail in the museum garden

The botanical trail in the garden of the Blaskovich Museum presents natural features as well as architectural and cultural heritage. It includes information boards and plant labels, a learning and resting area, and interactive games. Unlike the Fehér gólya Nature Trail, which focuses on small streams, wetlands and the Tápió, this trail brings together natural and cultural themes. The boards, plant labels and interactive elements are just as much part of the concept as the learning and resting area.

Protection history of the former manor garden

The former Blaskovich manor garden has its own dated protection history. In 2009, it was protected as a nature area of local significance; in 2010, the entire former garden was placed under protection. This sequence of years distinguishes the protection measures for the nature area from the subsequent protection of the entire former garden.

Visiting hours for the Néprajzi Ház

The Néprajzi Ház is listed as open to visitors on the first Saturday of each month from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Please check before travelling whether a visit is possible on that date.

The different themes can help you choose what to focus on: the church offers architectural features and styles, the museum presents culture and material artefacts, and each of the two nature trails has its own emphasis on natural and cultural heritage. This lets you explore Tápiószele through the aspects that interest you most.
