Thermal pools, a sandy stretch of the Tisza riverbank, and natural and architectural history give Tiszakecske several distinct facets. For planning your trip, these themes can be considered separately: thermal attractions, a beach shaped by the seasons, a nature trail along the Holt-Tisza, and a church built in the late Baroque period with Neoclassical interior fittings.

Thermal Attractions in Tiszakecske

The Kerekdombi Thermal Bath in TiszakĂ©cske has two medicinal-water pools. It also features a 1,500 mÂČ outdoor Kneipp garden and a wood-fired log-cabin sauna for 50 people.

At the Barack Thermal Resort, guests can enjoy the medicinal water of TiszakĂ©cske in two pools. The water emerges from a depth of 1,344 m at 52°C; guests have been using it since 1984. While the pools at Kerekdombi are complemented by the Kneipp garden and sauna, the resort also highlights the water’s source and temperature.

By the Tisza: Beach and Nature Trail

The riverbank at Tisza-parti Free Beach stretches for 300 m, and its sand is reminiscent of a seaside beach. Entry is free during the summer season. Unlike the thermal pools, the focus here is on the sandy stretch of riverbank. Summer leisure activities include water tours. Check whether they are available for your travel dates if you are planning a tour.

The NĂĄdirigĂł Nature Trail offers insights into the habitats and wildlife of the TiszakĂ©cske Holt-Tisza. It starts next to the ÓkĂ©cske Sports Hall, where there is parking and a small playground.

Church and Architectural History

The Holy Trinity Church was built between 1815 and 1820 in the late Baroque style and has been a protected monument since 1970. Inside, the three faux-marble altars, the organ case and the confessional are designed in the Neoclassical style. The construction period and the interior fittings reflect two distinct stylistic influences: the late Baroque applies to the church building, while Neoclassicism applies to the elements named inside.
