Longá is a mountain village in the Antichasia Mountains at an elevation of 970 metres. Annual village festivals mark two dates on the local calendar; nearby, Lake Logga and the summit of Liakos offer different landscape experiences. For your travel plans, the village thus combines set occasions with opportunities to explore the forest, go for a walk and enjoy the views.

Lake Logga: Forest and Circular Trail

Nearby Lake Logga takes its name from the neighbouring village of Longá. The lake was created in 2000 for irrigation and to supply neighbouring settlements with water. Beech and oak forests surround it. This brings together a specific history of how the lake was created and a landscape shaped by two types of forest.

The paths around the lake make it easy to complete a circular walk on foot in no more than two hours. This estimate helps you plan the walk as a separate stroll in your day, rather than setting aside a whole day for hiking. Before setting out, it is advisable to check the current access and trail conditions.

Liakos and Triá Alónia

From the summit of Liakos, you can see Meteora and the Trikala plain. This offers a different landscape experience from Lake Logga: the circular walk is the focus there, while at Liakos it is the view from the summit. If you are choosing between a walk and a viewpoint, the two options differ in activity and perspective.

At Triá Alónia in Longá, a recreational area with wooden structures and a playground lies among beech and oak trees. This adds a designed place for recreation as another point of interest. If you include Triá Alónia in your plans, check the current condition of the facilities before your visit.

Village Festivals, Culture and Local Produce

Two village festivals take place in the village every year: on 20 May and 15 August. These recurring dates give you a specific reference point for choosing when to travel. If you plan your visit around one of the festivals, also check the details for the relevant date.

For planning your day, a different measure applies: the village festivals fall on fixed dates each year, while the lakeside circular walk can be planned as a walk of no more than two hours. You can therefore decide whether a festival date will shape your stay, or whether a walk would work as an activity.

On 8 August 2025 at 9 pm, the Municipality of Meteora held a cultural, culinary and musical evening on the shore of Lake Logga as part of the “Μετέωρα Τέχνης 2025” festival.

Longá is also known for its beans and potatoes. Alongside its landscapes and festivals, these products give the village a culinary appeal.
