Tenbury Wells is known for its orchards and hop harvests. It also has a variety of bridges, recreational spaces and recurring events. When planning your trip, first consider whether a particular date is important or whether buildings and leisure options are your main focus. If you are travelling for an event, you can plan your travel dates around it; other interests offer different starting points for your stay.

Teme Bridge and Kyre Bridge

Teme Bridge and Kyre Bridge are easy to distinguish by their features. Teme Bridge is a six-arched road bridge over the River Teme and is listed as a Grade II building. Its six arches describe its structure; the listing is a separate point of reference. Teme Bridge therefore has both a specific structural feature and a heritage designation to note.

At Kyre Bridge, the road and location are the main points of reference: the B4204 Teme Street crosses the Kyre Brook over the bridge, just south of Market Street. After restoration, it reopened in August 2026. The two names therefore refer to different bridges over different waterways. When comparing them, you can use the six arches of Teme Bridge or the road and location of Kyre Bridge as points of reference.

Fruit, apples and mistletoe dates

Tenbury Wells is also known for its orchards and hop harvests. The annual calendar includes several distinct occasions: a one-day event celebrating apples is held at Burgage Recreational Area every year on the first Saturday in October. Tenbury Wells continues to hold the only remaining mistletoe auctions: one on the last Tuesday in November and another on a date in early December.

These are separate from the mistletoe sales and a Santa parade, which take place on the first Saturday in December. This event has been held since 2005. The dates and occasions are therefore distinct: the apple event falls on the first Saturday in October, the auctions are scheduled for dates in November and December, and the sales and parade take place on the first Saturday in December. If one of these is the reason for your trip, check the relevant date against your travel dates rather than treating the different mistletoe events as a single event.

Leisure spots and a named starting point

Palmers Meadow has football and rugby pitches as well as a skatepark. The facilities mentioned range from team sports pitches to a place to skate. This offers a clear comparison when considering what kind of leisure option suits your interests.

The Tenbury Wells Town Walk Trail starts at the Teme Street car park, near the Pump Rooms and Burgage Recreation Ground. This gives you a specific starting point for navigation, with two other local landmarks nearby. The Pump Rooms are available to hire. The trail starting point, recreational spaces and hire option are different aspects of the town that you can include separately in your plans, depending on the occasion.

Plan your stay

When choosing a hotel in Tenbury Wells, start with the reason for your trip. If you want to attend one of the events mentioned, first plan your travel dates around it. If you are more interested in the buildings, Teme Bridge and Kyre Bridge offer two distinct points of reference; the Town Walk Trail and the facilities at Palmers Meadow offer different focuses. Check hotels that suit your specific travel dates and the reason for your visit.
