Little Owl Farm Park on Owl Hill Lane in Dunhampton combines animal encounters, play activities and a Nature Trail. The activities have different focuses: at the Petting Barn, children can experience animals at close quarters, while the Nature Trail offers a seasonal fairy hunt.

Animal Encounters and a Glimpse of Farm Life

At the Petting Barn, children can see rabbits and guinea pigs at close quarters. Newly hatched chicks are available only when there are any; children’s visits with the animals are supervised. The park also frequently demonstrates farm tasks, including feeding, caring for and looking after various animal species. Animal encounters and demonstrations of farm activities are therefore offered as distinct experiences.

The park’s animals include sika deer, red deer and fallow deer. It is also home to more than 90 different breeds of birds and other animals. Those with a particular interest in animals can therefore find other animal-related aspects of the park in addition to the encounters at the Petting Barn.

Nature Trail: Seasonal Hunt and Possible Animal Encounters

Visitors can look for seasonal fairies in their houses along the Nature Trail. At the start of the path, instructions explain how to find out your own fairy name. On sunny days, visitors may also encounter bees, foxes, hedgehogs, birds and rabbits there. The fairy hunt is seasonal; the animal encounters mentioned are associated with sunny days. This distinguishes a planned search activity from possible sightings along the path.

Play Areas and Different Formats

The Adventure Playground includes a Snake Swing, a Tangle Trail and a Roundabout; the availability of this play equipment may change. The Visit Worcestershire Visitor Guide 2025/26 lists four indoor play areas; this number may also change. The Adventure Playground also offers several inclusive play options.

The Physical Education Barn includes a three-storey soft play area. At the Shoot-Out Alley, soft play and climbing equipment are combined with air cannons that shoot foam balls at other players. The go-karts are pedal-powered. The play activities described therefore range from multi-level soft play to climbing equipment with air cannons and pedal-powered karts.

Farmer Tots and a Break at the Café

Farmer Tots is a toddler group centred on farming topics. Activities include weekly crafts on farming and animal themes. On Fridays, there is a morning session for toddlers and their accompanying adults. Check the latest booking information before planning to attend this session.

Little Owl Farm Park’s café offers hot and cold food in a large, comfortable seating area. This means that, alongside the animal and play activities, food is also available at the park.

Getting There and Architecture Nearby

According to the timetable in effect in August 2023, bus route 303 served Dunhampton from Monday to Saturday. Check the latest timetable and operating days before travelling.

Nearby, in Ombersley, St Andrew’s was built by Thomas Rickman between 1825 and 1829. The church is considered a notable early example of Gothic Revival architecture. Alongside Dunhampton’s animal and play activities, this offers an architectural point of interest in the surrounding area.
