Mount offers a clear contrast between a historic memorial and a hub of community life. The War Memorial commemorates local people; Jubilee Hall hosts classes, groups, and exhibitions. Walking trails can be found nearby in Cardinham Woods. You can tailor your stay to your interests in heritage, local activities, or time outdoors.

A memorial to local people

The Mount War Memorial is a Grade II-listed granite Celtic cross with a sword carving. It appears to have been erected around 1920 as a lasting memorial to members of the local community who died in the First World War. The date is approximate. The memorial therefore brings together the cross’s shape and carving, as well as its commemorative purpose.

Mount Methodist Church is also part of the local community structure: it belongs to the Mine & Moor Church Council within the South East Cornwall Methodist Circuit.

Jubilee Hall as a hub of community life

Jubilee Hall is in Mount and serves as a hub for community activities in the parish of Warleggan. The Pilates class is scheduled for Tuesdays at 12 noon and is open to women and men of all experience levels, explicitly including beginners. Check the current booking arrangements in advance.

The weekly schedule for February and March 2026 included gentle stretch yoga for beginners on Thursdays. Two yoga flow sessions were scheduled for Fridays: from 8 to 9 am and from 9:15 to 10:15 am. These times were part of that programme; check which sessions apply to your travel dates before setting out. The Whistleblowers Recorder Group meets regularly at Jubilee Hall, usually on Tuesday afternoons from 2 pm. Check the participation details in advance.

Local artists, photographers, and craftspeople also display their work at Jubilee Hall; the exhibits change. Individuals and groups from the parish of Warleggan and beyond can hire the hall for events or other purposes. Use of the hall depends on local availability.

Other meeting places and events

Mount Reading & Community Room has a snooker table and two dartboards. Guests can try out the room before becoming members if they are invited by a member. Arrange your visit in advance; attendance is subject to this invitation.

The annual community event The Big Little Do in the Field takes place in the field opposite Jubilee Hall. The Warleggan Parish Summer Produce, Flower and Craft Show was also scheduled to return to Jubilee Hall in 2026. Check the specific dates before planning your trip around either event.

Nearby trails

If you’d like to plan a walk as well as visit Mount’s meeting places, trails can be found nearby in Cardinham Woods. This offers a different way to spend your time than attending an event at Jubilee Hall or visiting the War Memorial. These details do not describe a shared route; choose places according to your own travel plans.

Plan your hotel search around your travel dates

If you’re looking for a hotel in Mount, specific dates can guide your planning: activities at the hall take place on particular days of the week, and you should check the date of the community event. Also confirm the participation requirements for any classes or groups you’d like to attend.
