Dellfeld combines a rich history of monuments with the Pirminius Cycle Route, which passes through the town. Its protected buildings range from a Gothic chancel tower dating from the first half of the 13th century to a Neoclassical school building from the mid-19th century; the hall church itself dates from 1923/24. These different features offer three distinct ways to explore the town: architecture, natural surroundings and cycling routes.
Monuments from Several Centuries
The Protestant Church is a protected hall church dating from 1923/24; its Gothic chancel tower dates from the first half of the 13th century. The tower is therefore several centuries older than the hall church. Other cultural monuments include the cemetery cross from 1856 and the former Quereinhaus at Friedhofstraße 4.
The former school at Mittelgasse 11 is a protected Neoclassical ashlar building from the mid-19th century. The Quereinhaus is another recurring building type on Vordergasse: the former estate at house numbers 9, 9a–c is a protected Quereinhaus complex with several outbuildings; the protected monuments also include the Quereinhaus at number 33, which dates from 1816. The two Vordergasse addresses can thus be distinguished by their complex layout and dates, while both share the term Quereinhaus.
Natural Surroundings and Cycling Route
The Weihertalkopf Nature Reserve includes parts of Dellfeld’s municipal area. The Pirminius Cycle Route passes through the town; its section along the Schwarzbach also reaches Contwig, Rieschweiler-Mühlbach and Höhmühlbach on the way to Thaleischweiler-Fröschen. The protected area and the cycling route therefore represent different geographical features. The Blockhütte – Dellfeld is also located in the Reinsbacher Klamm.

The Südwestpfalz Region
Those looking beyond Dellfeld to include places of interest in the Südwestpfalz region will find other, distinct perspectives there. The Palatinate Forest shapes the landscape of the Südwestpfalz; well-maintained, signposted trails wind through dense forests, over gentle hills and past striking red sandstone cliffs. The Teufelstisch near Hinterweidenthal is 14 metres high and a popular destination for day trips. In Hauenstein, the German Shoe Museum, housed in a former shoe factory, presents the 140-year tradition of shoe production, the development of the shoe industry in the Südwestpfalz and the process of making shoes. The Altschlossfelsen Premium Hiking Trail leads to the rock formation of the same name, a massif around 1.5 kilometres long. Gräfenstein Castle offers a glimpse into medieval life; Berwartstein Castle is the only castle in the Palatinate that is still inhabited today. Alt-Dahn is one of the three Dahn castles, which are popular destinations for day trips. The Felsland Badeparadies in Dahn is known as a place for relaxation and wellness services.
