Stahlbrode and the Bodden Coast
The district of Stahlbrode lies on the Western Pomeranian Bodden Coast, on the west shore of the Greifswald Bodden. Woodlands, meadows, and extensive reed beds shape the landscape. If you want to plan your stay around your preferred activities, this coastal landscape and its different points of interest can help guide you. The coastal area near Stahlbrode is considered suitable for walks, cycling tours, water-based outings, and swimming in the shallow Bodden waters. The area is also considered suitable for families with children. Outdoor activity and time by the water offer different options for planning your day. If you plan to swim, check the water conditions and local safety information.
Coastal Landscape, Harbour, and Fish
Sundhagen’s coastal area includes the Bodden Coast nature conservation area on the Strelasund and bird-rich shoreline habitats. Niederhof has a stopover for water-based tourism, while Stahlbrode has a harbour. This brings together several different points of interest: protected landscapes, habitats with abundant birdlife, a stopover for water-based tourism, and the harbour. There, you can watch freshly caught fish being landed and processed; you can also buy fresh and smoked fish. Check the sales arrangements and offerings of individual businesses in advance. Ferry Connection and Day Trip
For day trips to Rügen, there is a ferry connection between Reinberg and Rügen, which allows you to travel with a car or bicycle. From April to November, the service runs every 20 minutes. As the seasonal timetable may change, check the current departure times before travelling. This lets you include a trip to Rügen in your plans without conflating the coastal activities at Stahlbrode with the ferry connection.
