Krackow brings together two very different cultural attractions: the Protestant village church and the vintage car museum. There are also manor houses and a specific connection to cycling. The range therefore extends from Neo-Romanesque architectural history and choral music to vehicle technology and a stay with a cycling connection.

Village Church: Architectural History and Acoustics

The Protestant village church underwent extensive Neo-Romanesque renovations in the 19th century. This gave it its present-day tower and apse. Its acoustics are another distinctive feature: they are particularly suited to choral music. The architecture and musical suitability thus offer two different perspectives on the same building.

Vintage Car Museum: Vehicles and Technology

The Krackow Vintage Car Museum displays old horse-drawn carriages and sledges, vintage cars, and two- and four-wheeled vehicles from the 1920s to the 1970s. More than 200 vehicles are exhibited across 1,600 square metres. There are also engines, tools, machines and curious homemade designs. The focus is therefore not only on vehicles, but also on technology and unusual constructions. Anyone interested in the history of vehicles will find a clear contrast here to the village church’s architectural focus.

Manor Houses and Accommodation

Behind Jordan Manor House on Schulstraße is a small, well-kept park. A second manor house on Speicherstraße reveals a different architectural side: it is a two-storey rendered building with a tall hipped roof, was probably built in the mid-18th century and remodelled around 1900. These two places therefore each have a different point of interest: the park at Jordan Manor House, and the architectural style and history of the building on Speicherstraße.

Lebehn Manor House is situated on Lake Lebehn in Lebehn, a district of Krackow, directly on the Oder-Neiße Cycle Route. Check current availability before planning to use the manor house as your base.

Vorpommern-Greifswald: More Travel Interests

The wider destination of Vorpommern-Greifswald offers additional nature and cycling themes. The Ueckermünder Heide is ideal for hiking, cycling and horse riding. Regional cycling routes for exploring the district include the Stettiner Haff Circular Route and the North German Romanticism Route. The Baltic Sea Cycle Route, part of the EuroVelo EV10 route, also passes through the district. As route conditions and signage can change, it is a good idea to check them before setting out on a particular ride.

The cultural attractions offer a variety of experiences, too: the Pomeranian State Museum in Greifswald displays the Croy Tapestry from 1554, a unique cultural and historical artefact from the Reformation era. The Otto Lilienthal Museum in Anklam is dedicated to aviation pioneer, mechanical engineer and humanist Otto Lilienthal, and is a technical museum devoted to a historical figure. In Peenemünde, visitors can explore the Juliett U-461, a museum ship in the harbour, on a self-guided tour. Guided tours of the historic landscape can also be booked through the Historical-Technical Museum Peenemünde. Check current visiting and booking options before your visit.
