Anyone looking to combine a visit to Vorbeck with an active exploration can consider two regional cycling and hiking tours that pass through the village. They differ in their approximate length and route: one runs via Letschower Tannen and Letschow, while the other includes additional places in the municipality and surrounding area.

Two Circular Tours through Vorbeck

Tour 3, approximately 13 kilometres long, runs from Schwaan via Vorbeck, Letschower Tannen and Letschow, then back to Schwaan. It therefore links a circuit through several villages and landscape features with Schwaan as its starting and finishing point.

Tour 4, approximately 23 kilometres long, also runs from Schwaan via Vorbeck, then continues via Kambs, Kassow, Neu Kassow, Mistorf, Rukieten and Göldenitz before returning to Schwaan. Werle is also listed in parentheses in the route description. Both tours are designed for cycling and hiking. Their approximate distances and different sequences of places provide a practical guide when choosing between the two circuits.

Church Art and Architectural History in Kambs

Kambs is a district of the municipality of Vorbeck. The village church there is a Gothic brick church surrounded by a well-preserved stone wall. A Gothic entrance hall was added to the south side of the choir in the 15th century. The church thus brings together different architectural details: brick construction, the surrounding wall and the later-added entrance by the choir.

A Late Gothic carved altar dating from 1500 is considered particularly worth seeing. A Late Gothic altarpiece from the 15th century is designed as a triptych. At its centre are Saint Mary with the Christ Child, standing on a crescent moon and surrounded by a halo of rays, as well as Moses and the prophet Ezekiel. The side panels show the twelve apostles and twelve other saints in two rows, one above the other. The sequence of images combines a central depiction with figures on the side panels.

The village also has historic features: the church once had the oldest pulpit in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. At the edge of the churchyard is the family burial site of A. G. LĂĽbcke, built in 1845. The district also has a vicarage built around 1860. Near the Warnow stands a former manor house dating from 1923, with a park; the manor house and park are privately owned.

Regular church services and events take place in Kambs village church. A visit can be arranged after contacting Pastor Jungmann in Schwaan; please arrange an appointment in advance.
