In the village of Resse in Wedemark, MOORiZ combines a permanent exhibition with a focus on raised bogs. Covering 100 square metres, it presents the history of how the raised bogs around Resse formed, as well as their fauna and flora. MOORiZ is also a popular starting point for excursions into the bog. This lets you explore the local connection to nature from two perspectives: the exhibition focuses on the history and ecosystems of the raised bogs, while the excursions take you out into the bog itself. MOORiZ, the E1 and the North Hanover Moor Route
Two trails at different scales also make Wedemark tangible as a travel destination. Wedemark is part of two stages or day hikes on the European long-distance trail E1, which runs from the North Cape to Sicily. The North Hanover Moor Route, approximately 100 kilometres long, connects the AltwarmbĂĽchen Moor with five other moors in the cities and municipalities of Hanover, Isernhagen, Langenhagen, Neustadt, Wedemark and Wunstorf.

The Herrenhausen Gardens in Hanover comprise the Great Garden, the Berggarten, the Georgengarten and the Welfengarten. Hiking, cycling, beach volleyball, boules and football are all possible at Wietzepark; fishing is also permitted there under certain conditions. The Hanover Adventure Zoo also features themed worlds where visitors can get up close to animals from around the world.
