Theatre and contemporary history offer different ways to engage with culture. Theater an der Parkaue is Germany’s only state theatre for children and young people. Theatre and Contemporary History

The Stasi Museum – Research and Memorial Site Normannenstraße offers a different cultural focus. It includes Erich Mielke’s offices, which have been preserved almost in their original state. The permanent exhibition spans three floors and traces the origins, development and end of the Stasi. Theatre activities for children and young people are therefore at the heart of one venue, while the museum explores the history of the Stasi in a multi-storey permanent exhibition.
