The structure of St. Emmeram Church continues to shape Rohr’s appearance to this day. For orientation, it is worth distinguishing this townscape from the attractions across the municipality of Rohr: cultural activities, sports and cycling routes are spread across several named places. You can plan your time according to whether you want to focus mainly on the town itself or on other municipal attractions.

Culture and events

At the Culinary Artists’ Mile, various artists present exhibitions and live workshops throughout the day along Pfarrgasse and Buchschwabacher Straße. The event program also includes activities for children. The event thus combines presentations with workshop activities. If you would like to include the Artists’ Mile in your stay, check the relevant date in advance.

In Dechendorf, the Dechendorf Snuff Club’s collection of snuff machines developed into a small museum. Guided visits are available by prior arrangement; make arrangements before you travel. The two cultural activities also differ in how they need to be planned: for the Artists’ Mile, the event date matters; for a museum tour, prior arrangements are required.

Sports and cycling in the municipality

In summer, you can play tennis on three clay courts in both Rohr and Regelsbach. Contact the local clubs for current access information.

A 9-hole golf course in Nemsdorf/Göckenhof offers free taster courses and a driving range where golf beginners can practise their first shots. Check with the operator for current course availability. From the course in Nemsdorf, you can see the historic imperial city of Nuremberg.

The Mill and Church Cycling Route adds a cycling option offered by the municipality. The activities have different focuses: tennis is specifically mentioned for summer, the golf course offers taster opportunities and a practice area, and the cycling route adds another way to stay active.

Roth as a regional context

In the wider travel destination of Roth, the 210-hectare Rothsee lies between Roth, Hilpoltstein and Allersberg. The Rothsee Environmental Education Centre offers year-round guided tours suited to different ages and abilities for school classes, kindergarten groups, people with disabilities and visitor groups. During school holidays and at weekends, there is an open program for children and families, who can also explore the centre on their own. If you are planning a guided tour or program, check the current schedule with the operator. The “RH hoch 2” circular cycling route goes around the entire Roth district and is more than 200 kilometres long.

Focus your search according to whether your plans centre mainly on Rohr and its municipality or also include the wider travel destination of Roth.
